Favorite Established Big Bait Manufacturer - 2020

Post by Cal » Thu Sep 17, 2020 10:06 pm

Time to update that 2011 list of favorite big bait manufacturers... the poll limits us to 30 choices, so here's an incomplete list of some of the top manufacturers in 2020. Who's your favorite? :)

I’d add Little Creeper Baits, but you already said you had to limit it to 30 options :) By big bait popularity (sales numbers), I’m thinking R2S might win just because everybody seems like have an S-Waver.

But that's the only one they make... They're on the old list. Tried to list companies that make more than one and also newer.

I guess not too many ppl throw big baits here. My vote goes to Jackall as their line up fits my style so well. My choice would be different if we were choosing specific baits. Here are some pics of some catches this year.

The crowd ebbs and flows it seems, just like the bite ;) ... nice fish and baits.

Too difficult to list individual baits 😂

Thanks, I tend to look for baits that are easy to purchase and cheap. I won't get upset if I lose a $100 bait, but losing some of those $200-$500 baits can get me down for the day.

Yes, way too many baits in the market to list each one, but I think I'd be able to just get by with just 2: an 8" Hudd and a Deps 250.

Huddleston, just because they been in the swimbait game for a while and that is the bait
that got me started.

Hard choice though, lots of good ones listed....

Not in any particular order but just maybe :P

Triton Mike's Bucca swimmers: Shouldn't have to say more but I can  Up and down bad arce!!

DEPS: Covers essentially all my glide needs 250s are lovely but too much for me now, but 175SSSS all day, and really back into the Bullshooter Jr. SS and 145 SSSS for a but smaller snack.

Triple Trouts: My back up swimmer of choice, outstanding with some nice subtle differences that make the bait unique 8-)

Huddleston: like many my very first intro into the bigger stuff. Can be modified so many ways and always a delicious treat to throw in my deeper home reservoirs

DRT has my vote. Innovative and they catch fish.

...but so hard to get unfortunately...

Tried most but ended up ditching all the harder to get stuff since they fetch more and sticking with readily available stuff or more readily available.

Wcz, bullshads, defiant.
Nothing sucks worse than having to worry about breaking off or not having a confidence Lure for a trip because you can't go buy or order them

Same as the above post..in the midwest I fish mostly moderate sized swimbaits readily available. Jackall was my pick because of the Ganteral and Mikey SR. I also fish quite a bit of baits from FOM which are readily available along side mag drafts and large keitechs.

Surprised to see the HPH review with long wait times from Randall. His baits have been consistent producers and kept relatively quiet because of them not being widely available like a bullshad.
