Bass Tactics

Post by SenkoSnack808 » Sun Nov 12, 2006 9:38 am

Any of you guys fish for bass with fly oufits? I went a few times up north last year and had a blast and am planning on buying a nice oufit and a box full of bugs, and minnow patterns. What length do you guys like, and how far do you guys cast on average?

Thanks, Corey

hey corey,

I would stick with a 9' 8wt or 9wt. Look for the Sage XP on sale, that is great rod, they stopped making it this year. Reel isnt that important, but a ross CLA, or get a ross canyon on sale somewhere those would be a good choice for the bucks. Usually casting is short, 40-50 ft, for bass, just so you can put the bug right where you want it.
