The 804s XMR is by far my favourite NRX I own....
Such an amazing stick.
893 and 873 CRR are my second and third favourite.
but then again, the 802s is such an amazing jerkbait rod.

These are my favorites in order:
1) 893C - most sensitive rod ever, perfect action and power and sensitivity off the charts
2) 852S and 872S (tie) - both incredible rods for huge smallies, sensitivity off the charts, tapers perfect for soft plastics and small jigs/tubes, and lots of backbone to fight monster bass
3) 894C - a lot of the same awesomeness as the 893C just more power
4). 843C MBR - just flat out amazing for many techniques, and again incredible sensitivity when fishing bottom contact baits

the 893 JWC on Mondays and Saturdays, the 852 on Wednesdays and Thursdays! HAHA
The 893 is an amazing rod for bottom contact. Perfect blend of power and sensitivity!
The 892 is perfect for weightless presentations!
I feel with the NRX lineup, it hits a very special dream of many anglers who want both sensitivity and power, both of which are not sacrificed for another in the NRX lineup

My favourite is the NRX873C CRR...It doesn't fish big stuff but pitching soft plastics with pegged tungsten. It really shines for me personally with a small craw and a 1/2oz-3/4oz weight. The rod goes into a deep bend on 4lb+ fish but do I ever have good control with this rod. With the Aldebaran 50HG it's a feather.
Still love my 895's. 3/4-1oz jig's on deep weedlines and heavy cover froggin. The 916 is a incredible rod also and is my punching stick. Handles a 1oz weight perfectly.
I'll either buy another 873 or a 894 to try next.

NRX852C and NRX894C are my favs no doubt. Will try a NRX873C next or maybe a NRX854C for closer cover.MTBF wrote:My favourite is the NRX873C CRR...It doesn't fish big stuff but pitching soft plastics with pegged tungsten. Even though I REALLY been enjoying my 893 the past few months with senkos & trig, I'm going to have to vote for the 852c. One of the lightest & most sensitive, versatile rods in the lineup. I've started off tournaments throwing a megabass jb, by noon a 1/4 shakyhead & later in the day a 3/16 drop shot. This IS a co anglers dream rod & must have in the back of the boat. I've made the most $ with this rod than any other nrx model. Paired with a '15 aldebaran, this combo eliminates the need for me owning a sissy stick/fairy wand

Tough one... it's a close race between my 822 DSR and 852c.
The 822 DSR is flawless for its specific technique, but the 852c allows me to throw so much more, worms, 5" Senko's, flukes, jerkbait, scrounger head, Ned rig, shakey head, small cranks, etc... it also has plenty of power, and is extremely sensitive.

Re: What's your favorite NRX and why ?
I just purchased my NRX rods about 2 months ago when they were discontinuing the green ones. In the 2 months I have fished the 893C the most w the 852C following. I currently own all the models and some models more than one except in the 802C and 916C. I do want to pu a cpl 916C and some more of other models like the 852C, 893C and 894C but having a hard time jumping on the blue bandwagon.

Re: What's your favorite NRX and why ?
I only own 2, but I chose them carefully because I wanted rods that would fit my style of fishing. The 893c and my more recent acquisition, the 852c. I can't think of a better rod for light t rigs and jigs than the 893 as many agree. It's light, sensitive and has power. I have a met mgl on it and it's a perfect marriage. The 852c is one versatile rod. Beating the bank at the river, I took only the 852 and fished senkos, ikas, ned rigs, 1/4 spinnerbait, shaky head, finesse jig, grub/jighead, flukes, xrap 8 and neko rig. I have an ito with diy spool on it with 10lb sniper. Next NRX for me to pick up is the 894.

Re: What's your favorite NRX and why ?
852S all the way... best tube rod in my opinion second would be the 872S
Re: What's your favorite NRX and why ?
I rank the 852C and 853C as favorites of the line up. The 852 is the rod I constantly find excuses to fish with, it's just a bunch of fun for all my lightweight work. The power in that little rod is deceptive, I horsed in a 6# Spot this spring and didn't flinch a bit due to the rods power. I was a little nervous about lipping it from my tin boat by myself because my net was jammed into a seat bracket The 853 is fantastic for light jigs, shaky heads, light TX stuff and all points between.
I currently own 873, 854, 853C, 852C, 852S, and 822 DSR rods in that series. I began with the 894 and 893 and ended up selling them off. I feel like I just disliked adjusting to the extra length of those rods. The 893 is really nice but I feel more comfy using the shorter version and the 894 was kinda unbalanced and chunky in my opinion. Sensitivity is great on all of them though.

I only own 2 and it would be tough to pick just one, but I think Ill go with my 852s as it is incredibly versatile and the sensitivity is awesome. I do love my 893c as well, but recently picked up a Luxxe Oltre and that has been been my go to. But now one can have a jig on it and the other t-rig!!
