Tatula Signature Series

Post by big_gee » Tue Jan 10, 2017 12:27 am

I assume the new Tatula SIgnature series rods will be released at the classic with the new reels. I heard the new rod will have the AGS guides.

Yes, Tatula Elite Signature Series rods will be released at the Bassmaster Classic. Certain models feature AGS, but not all of them. There is a significant price differential for those with AGS vs those without. $279.99 - $289.99 with AGS, $179.99 - $199.99 without AGS. The non-AGS guides are Fuji Alconite since I'm sure folks will want to know. I was able to handle some of these rods with and without AGS, make a few parking lot casts, but no real fishing with them yet.

Do you feel a difference with the AGS Guides? Also, Are the AGS guides the same sized guides used on the Steez AGS?

Thanks.

As I mentioned, I have not fished the rods, I have only seen and handled some of them. Obviously time on the water will dictate what kind of performance differences there may be. There is a very small overall weight difference in a finished rod with AGS vs Alconites. I don't know the sizes and don't have a chart on them.

There is a video on YouTube of Cody Meyer catching a potential world record spotted bass with a prototype tatula signature spinning rod with AGS guides.

I'm interested in the 7'1" Spinning rod designed by Brett and the 7'6" designed by Seith. Looking forward to seeing them. Not sure about the silver color.

The 71 AGS rod felt really nice in hand. I didn't handle the 76 however. Color is personal preference, but I thought these rods looked very sharp in hand. Different, and sometimes that's a good thing. Pairing up with the new Tatula CT SV, the casting rods look especially sharp...

Is there going to be new Tatula spinning reel to match these rods? I figure probably not, but is there a Daiwa spinning reel that will match these rods nicely? Thanks.

I've seen two different handles on the spinning rods.

All that information will be released closer to the Classic. From what I understand, Daiwa doesn't want all that public just yet. I can say that there is a pretty comprehensive line up rolling out on the initial launch.
