Tried the zodia 610 and the xxx 65

Currently using

Stcroix 6'8 elite ex fast with mono for suspend action

X7 super eiger open water light line

Expride 6'10 8lbs flouro and a xx jerkbait special

I like the expride blank best but like the xx reel seat better for all day jerkbait bite. I like the tip on the expride on initial bite. But I'd rather have the reel seats on the xx I can break dance my fingers around the smaller trigger easier than the ci4. Ci4 is comfy too but I'd perfer that reel seat for jigs more than the xx. I hate the gigantic 1st double footed guide they put on the xx. I perfer the shorter but sectiom of the xx over the expride. I love everything about my x7. As for my Croix same thing only thing is I wish I can find a 6'8 mod fast so I can use floru. If I use flouro on the elite now I feel the load on fish kills it with its stiff rod action. That reason I choose mono and for application where I need the bait to float more.

These rods are for Lake Michigan Small mouth fishing.

Nice to see this topic revived.

I recently got alx zolo jerkbait and it is spectacular. Perfect action for jerks and walking baits (as that’s what I been throwing for 2 weeks already), very short butt section- perfect for a yak. Overall I like everything about this rod so far.

Also for those of you talking about “imparting more action with shorter rods,” here is a simple geometric diagram.

I bet that is an awesome rod. I think Randy Howell's 701MLRB would be great for 110's and Jr's, too. If I found one, I'd probably get it. They also came out with a 691MLRB I think towards the end of the run for that series.
Patrick Walter's won the Elite on lake Fork last year with over 104lbs throwing a trio of jerkbaits (vision 110, shadow rap, and Duo realis) all on the tatula elite 7'mrb. He set a record for largest margin of victory with second place being 29lb-10oz behind.

Shimano Expride 6' 10" Medium. Guide at lodge broke off the tip. Shimano replaced the rod. My only cost was $32 and a LONG wait. This rod has been hard to get. I will also try it as a topwater rod.
