Anybody have the 6’6” MH casting rod? There’s one at a local shop for 19000 yen or $165. It’s shorter than I’d like but for the price I think I’d be a fool to pass it up. I’ve looked all over the internet and can’t find anything about this model.
Don’t know anything about that rod, but that is a great deal! Surely you could find a use for it.

You can do it but in my humble opinion it’s pretty stout so I use it for magnum jerkbaits.

Jerkbaits with beefier hooks.

Some people find it to be what they are looking for and everyone is different so you’ll just have to try it. I only suggest a reel with excellent drag and smoothness

Does anyone have the 72M adrena? How does it compare to the 72M zodias? I know the latter is like a M+ which can be used for a wide variety of weightless baits, and small texas rigs/jigs.

I'm of no help but I do want to take this time to expand on my gen 1 72M Zodias to set up a reference. It does fish like a M+ in that it can drive hooks on lighter jigs home like a MH rod and unlike any other M I own. I believe this is due to the slower but stiff tip making the rod more powerful and stiff when setting the hook and working baits. When it comes to loading the rod and casting it definitely has a M upper limit and is not just a case of a MH being mislabeled a M. 5/8 oz lipless is the heaviest thing I'll throw on it. At 3/4 oz I want to move up a rod or two into a H territory.

What do you mean stiff tip but slow action?

What do you mean stiff tip but slow action? Sort of like a megabass taper where it starts fast but bends deeply?

Rather than a fast and soft tip it has a mod fast tip that is stiffer. Makes the rod fish more powerful but when loading to cast baits its still in the M wheelhouse. I'll throw 3/8 oz chatterbaits with trailer on it and it will feel a little less than ideal casting them like I am just outside the rods sweet spot upper limit but it works them just fine. This is the gen 1 Zodias 72M. Not sure how the PA rods stack up but I kinda want a 72H as an MH+ all arounder. The 72MH sounds too similar to my Zodias 72M gen 1. If I didnt have the Zoidas I would absolutely get the 73MH PA.

So you throw senkos, 1/-1/4 texas rigs, and like 1/4 ounce or 3/8 football jigs on the rod?

5" senkos, neko, 3/8 oz dark sleepers, 3/8, 1/2 and 5/8 oz lipless, 3/16 to 5/15 finesse jigs plus 4 inch plastic, 1/4 oz t rigs, 1/4-3/8 oz spinnerbaits, 3/8 oz square bills, 110 size jerkbaits. 12# flouro. I've thrown 3/8 oz mini mop jigs with trailers and it definently gets the job done but I have other more bottom contact orientated rods for 3/8 oz jigs.

Super versatile rod that tours the kayak and boat. Gen 1 Zoidas. Can't speak to the gen 2 rods or the PA. It's a tip heavy rod though with that short grip and thick epoxy. Needs a 7 oz reel to balance out right.

Basically 3/8 oz total weight now that I think about it. That's what I throw most often and it's in the rods sweet spot. It's a reall bomber too despite the short grip.

I agree with goldrod. This rod feels alittle too over powering for a regular diving jerkbait. It can work but not my first choice.
I find the 6'10" poison adrena a slightly better fit, but it's still more stout than the 6'10" med expride. The 6'10" expride is still my preferred rod for regular driving jerkbaits.
I have the old model poison adrena 6'10" med that works well for the + model jerkbaits. It's not as stiff as the new model.

I wish I could try the rod out in store before buying. Unfortunately I don't think that is going to be possible.

It's a gen 1 anyways. I have heard the new gens are different. The 73MH PA sounds real similar to the gen 1 Zodias with it being more of a true MH than the M+ of the gen 1 Zodias. I would just get that when they come available.

I do have the 72H adrena. I wouldn't say it's a medium heavy as it is definitely a step up in power from my 72mh expride. To me theres no question that it is more stout than that model expride. I had a 76H expride for a day (but sent it back), and that rod was definitely a lot more powerful than the adrena though. Maybe a 4.5 power rating would be appropriate for the 72H adrena. By that logic, the 73MH could be more like a 3.5 power, and similar to the 72M Zodias.
