New Poison Adrena
Re: New Poison Adrena
Anyone using the 611+ for 3/8 to 1/2 spinnerbaits?
Which model in the line up is best for mid depth cranking?
Thanks!

I've used my 6'11" for spinnerbaits and it did great with the war eagle screaming eagle 1/2oz smaller profile bait. I don't like it for bigger blades with a lot of drag like a Mann's ti classic if that makes sense
Re: New Poison Adrena
I jumped on one while they where on sale. $303 to my door. I plan on using it almost exclusively for 3/8 spinnerbaits with the occasional 1/2.bronzebacks wrote: ↑Sun Jul 10, 2022 5:04 amI've used my 6'11" for spinnerbaits and it did great with the war eagle screaming eagle 1/2oz smaller profile bait. I am interested in a model or two, maybe a JDM model....but...are these really breaking like crazy?
I read reviews on TWH and it seems like almost all of the last posted ones have breakage issues.

Some people have lead hands, and lead feet.
slip bobbing is the laziest way to fish
Re: New Poison Adrena
I looked up the handle lengths and it seems the new 72M model has a 11.1 inch handle, vs 9.8 inches for the old model. I'm guessing that would improve the balance quite a bit.LowRange wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 2:33 pm5" senkos, neko, 3/8 oz dark sleepers, 3/8, 1/2 and 5/8 oz lipless, 3/16 to 5/15 finesse jigs plus 4 inch plastic, 1/4 oz t rigs, 1/4-3/8 oz spinnerbaits, 3/8 oz square bills, 110 size jerkbaits. 12# flouro. I've thrown 3/8 oz mini mop jigs with trailers and it definently gets the job done but I have other more bottom contact orientated rods for 3/8 oz jigs.
Super versatile rod that tours the kayak and boat. Gen 1 Zoidas. Can't speak to the gen 2 rods or the PA. It's a tip heavy rod though with that short grip and thick epoxy. Needs a 7 oz reel to balance out right.
Re: New Poison Adrena
For guys that have the 73mh. Is the rod weights accurate? For example. Is a 3/4 oz Megabass sleeper gill too much for this rod?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: New Poison Adrena
the weights are accurate.....but i wouldnt use 3/4 sleeper on the 73mh for that i think its more a senko/lighter jigs/ moving baits kinda rod, but would use the 74H, cant explain it to you but for reference i have the 73mh , 74h and the new 76xh.

Re: New Poison Adrena
I have not but relegate those duties to the 7’4 H , it’s important to remember that the adrena line is using blanks that cater to the japanese market vs American so what I mean is that they tend to run a little lighter and have a deeper parabolic bend than the Expride line. My 7’3mh (Pared with a metanium) is used for when I want maximum sensitivity for Texas rigs and or jigs . But yes it’s very versatile and can use it for moving baits but I tend to use my Exprides for heavier cover. My 7’4 H is more versatile for moving baits as I throw anything from a 3/8 chatter bait all the way to a Megabass 2 ounce soft tail 6inch swimbait (have it pared up with a Antares 21) . The new 7’6 xh is the under cover rockstar as well as it was just rediculously good to use this summer punching/ f/p . Light, sensitive and I bet it could do double duty as a smaller swimbait rod.

Re: New Poison Adrena
I'm thinking about picking up a couple more of these rods. which model would you pick for a buzzbait rod and a swimjig rod? I have the 6'11M+ as well...use it mainly for squarebills. Thanks
Re: New Poison Adrena
Anyone have experience with the 7'2"M regular action? I'm basically looking to pick up this rod to use primarily for 3/8oz and 1/2oz Damiki Vaults and similar blade baits. Do you think this rod will work for this technique and weights. Will it load well with just 3/8oz and what is the upper end for these style baits? I'm thinking the regular taper will make it a good rod for treble hook baits. It seems it will fish more like a mod-fast than a moderate taper rod, which is what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance.
Re: New Poison Adrena
I don't have experience with the 7'2" M, but the 6'10" M is a great blade bait rod from a boat (even though it's a Reg Fast, many Shimano rods have that progressive taper that works well for trebles). I've tried vaults up to 1/2oz, Megabass Dyna Responses and Jackall Keyburns. I'd use 3/8 more than 1/2, tho.Craiger12 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 3:49 pmAnyone have experience with the 7'2"M regular action? Re: New Poison Adrena
Thanks for the help. I currently have an Expride A 7'2" ML+ that I'm using for the 3/8oz Vaults. I find the power to be great for the 3/8oz but certainly overpowered by 1/2oz. My issue is that the extra fast action is not ideal for trebles. I'm hoping the 7'2" M Adrena will be slightly more powerful with a more moderate action as the ratings suggest.Drakestar wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 8:35 pmI don't have experience with the 7'2" M, but the 6'10" M is a great blade bait rod from a boat (even though it's a Reg Fast, many Shimano rods have that progressive taper that works well for trebles). I also have a 7'3" MH on the way that I plan to use for jigging LV500s in the same way that you fish a blade bait. I'm hoping the 7'3" MH will have enough power for the 3/4oz LV500s. I imagine it will handle the 1/2oz Vaults as well and will certainly try them out to see.
