I guess it will work for people that want models that they don't have, or want more of the same. I will wait and see how people like the 893 in this model since I never bought one previously.
Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
I have longed for the Conquest spinning reel seat on some of my favored old NRX blanks. Am very happy to see it given how I hold a spinning rod. A benefit for me is feeling that faint pressure bite in sub 45 degree water temps from big smallmouth (which I do a lot of) with fingers wrapped around the blank and the heel of my hand off a metal hood.
But I understand what you mean sir.

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
Hey guys new here and looking at picking up my first few nrx’s
Looks like the mbr 842 is the choice for Vision 110’s, would anyone have an opinion about the mbr 843 for super spooks and similar topwaters in that size?

I mean, I'd rather have the NRX+ version of my 822 DSR than the old model I already own - I expect the new Ci4 reel seat to transmit vibrations better than the old cork handle (one would think that cork dampens vibrations). I'm just saying that, with the new price and seeing how insanely sensitive that old blank already was, I wouldn't upgrade to the new DSR, the possible improvement isn't worth it. And I expect others will feel the same. If I was to buy a new model NRX that I don't own yet, I'd obviously go with the + model.TravisNY wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 12:21 pmI have longed for the Conquest spinning reel seat on some of my favored old NRX blanks. Yes sir completely understandable.
I’ve got a couple incoming that I’ve missed having in my Conquest stable.

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
Looking forward to reading reviews on the 821s NRR and 903c MBR. Those are the main 2 on my radar.
After a lifetime of hating spinning gear, I've kinda been enjoying it lately, trying to do everything under the sun on my 822 SYR. Kinda want an all around rod. But one specifically for ned rigs and 1/8oz darter heads seems appealing and the 821 NRR looks like it might fit that bill really well. I've wanted a 902c or 903c NRX forever, so I think that one will probably be coming home as long as people seem to be enjoying it.

Looking at the 893 and 894....can we confirm these are a little more powerful rods than the old nrx? Faster action?
Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
Very curious to know this too, I have the nrx 893 and wondering if the new models have any advantage over the old ones.Black Haze wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 7:44 amLooking at the 893 and 894....can we confirm these are a little more powerful rods than the old nrx? Faster action?

Got to check out the balance of the 853 and 873 with my alphas. Reel weighs 5.88oz as it sits (aluminum steez gears installed).

Nice!
How does the reel seat feel?

The reel seat is one of the biggest improvements. It is very comfortable. It isn’t as quite as comfortable an the Adrena reel seat because there is more exposed blank, but much better than the old NRX reel seat.

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
I was able to spend quality time with the NRX+ 821s NRR (ned rig rod) the last two weeks. So thankful Gloomis made this rod! If you love fishing a Ned rig as much as I do you will love this rod. Very sensitive rod as expected with NRX. The rod has a perfect light tip that transitions to a solid backbone at about mid rod. The ability to protect lighter line and move a solid fish has been impressive. I have only used the rod with Ned rigs so far. I feel it will serve my all around finesse needs as well.
I love it enough I have two now. Haha.

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
Thanks for sharing your experience with this rod! What weight rigs have you been throwing with it and did the rod feel good with all of them? Been throwing a 1/10oz ned tons for the past week or so and it has become the first thing I reach for but the 822s SYR I've been using just feels like too much rod for it. Wish I could find a place with this rod in stock because I am dying to buy it and would really like to have it while the wide open bite in my area is still going on.Jrob wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 5:53 pmI was able to spend quality time with the NRX+ 821s NRR (ned rig rod) the last two weeks.
