Xbites - too soft for solid hook sets with more than an 1/8 oz weight. Superb balance and weight. Sensitive as any rod I’ve owned.
Really? I've had no problem with hard hook sets in brush w/3/8 oz. jigs. I wouldn't put a 3/4 oz. jig on it in cover, but zero problems, imo up to 1/2 oz. in cover.

Very much agree. Was hesitant at first thinking it would be a senko rod but it's deceptively more powerful than it seems. No issue at all flipping or pitching 3/8oz jigs in cover. Love the rod for that.

It always felt weak in hand to me. Wasn’t a bad rod and was razor sharp with sensitivity but when I’ve got thick submerged grass or dense laydowns on Chickamauga I never felt satisfied with its grunt. With a lighter bait I still needed the power to pull fish away from the nasty stuff in case they break into the slop.

You will really like the new P5 FMJ then.
