Anyone have experience with both? Wondering how they compare sensitivity wise.

I’ve fished the 893 NRX since it debuted and have put in a fair amount of time with the X Bites. I would be splitting hairs comparing the sensitivity of the two. You can’t go wrong with either one in my opinion.

Feel the same as post above. But I'll add better balance and more eye candy for the X-bites IMO.

Thanks guys I’ve got a brand new nrx 893c and I’m debating whether I want to sell it and get the megabass x-bites.

I have also spent time with both. I enjoy both very much. However, I feel that the NRX is a tad bit more sensitive, but overall like the X-Bites more based on balance and updated styling. Plus it is very sensitive.

What weight reel did you find that balances good on the x-bites?

Currently Tatula Elite on mine. Balance square middle of reel nut. Can easily get away with sub 6oz and still very nice in hands.

The P5s including X bites are finally in stock at the US retailers, perhaps more X Bites reviews will be coming here as more people start getting them? Would be interesting to thee more comparisons. Thank you.

The X-bites is one of the best balancing rods I own, and you can put whatever you want on it. The difference in balance point between an Antares A and a Aldebaran 31HG is about 1/2" with the Antares being right in the middle of the small locknut. That's roughly a 3oz reel weight difference

Which do you prefer and what do you use your x-bites for?

I owned both, sold the x-bites for the NRX+ 893, sold the 893 for a mhxf legend Xtreme.

Xbites - too soft for solid hook sets with more than an 1/8 oz weight. Superb balance and weight. Sensitive as any rod I’ve owned.

893 - Really long, fast tip. Didn’t enjoy the balance, sensitivity was as expected but not mind blowing. The xbites and 893 were neck and neck.

Croix - completely different rod than the first two, but fishes much better for my styles and my cover in the south.

You really need to hold a P5 in hand first...also, with the reel on the rod.

Felt them in hand on a business trip at the Hookup...no reel and they felt great.

Got one home, put a reel on it, and the small grip and trigger reared it's head. It bunches up my fingers and the small trigger digs into my finger. I have XL hands.

Don't like the grip or trigger. And all the P5s have tiny, almost useless butt grips. Fine for flipping but not great when cating.
