Megabass P5 BFS rods

Post by Bay_Bassin86 » Mon May 17, 2021 6:01 am

Has any body had the chance to use either the P5 F0st-66x mushizao siglett or the F2.5-611X Kasumi six eleven? I’m going to pair either of these rods with a Steez air 500XXH. This is going to be any all around bfs setup so I am take one rod to shore pound with tossing finesse plastics and jerkbaits.

Thanks

Judging by the specs, I think the Kasumi Six Eleven will probably be more suited to small cranks... the Siglett is described as a topwater rod with an extra-fast tip because of the solid carbon, but really, a slow taper... neither sound right for soft plastics. I'd go with the P5 Hien.

My choice would depend greatly on the details of those finesse plastics and jerk baits.

Hey Bronze... Assuming you've had some come through the shop... I assume the Hien has a standard config guide train, right? Not spiral?

Yes sir, standard guide train, no spiral wrap thank goodness  It's an interesting rod and noticeably different than the 16 Destroyer or Carbon Head. It has a deeper flex and is therefore extremely versatile in its ML class, and can handle both single hook and treble bait applications nicely. I don't think of it is a "true BFS" type stick however, which is why I asked about the plastic/jerk bait details.

Mainly tossing Duo realis Rozante 63sp, finesse swimbaits, and neko rigs
