Swimbait rod

Post by BigG » Mon May 24, 2021 12:57 pm

Looking for Swimbait rod to cast 5 to 6 oz Bullshads and some glide baits. Had a SRD but handle was to short and my XX Leviathan is stiff. More of a lop than casting. Is there something more moderate that handles these baits or am just stuck with lop casts.

If you like your Leviathan XXH, why not simply move down to the XH?

Otherwise, Megabass's Destroyer Onager or Orochi XX LV or Levante LV will handle that range up to 6 ounces

Other suggestions:

GanCraft's DeadSword Magnum or DeadSword R-One

The former Kistler KLX7107XXH will handle that easily but I don't think that spec is offered with their switch in blank suppliers.

Is that Orochi XX Leviathan?

You can try the Leviathan Omega XH Swimbait Rod if you were referring to the Megabass Leviathan

F5 Custom also has a nice selection of rods people seem to like.

I hear LDC is getting ready to drop some builds in the next few weeks as well

LOL.... when I read XX Leviathan, I was thinking Leviathan Omega XXH, the counterpart to this stick http://www.tackletour.com/reviewleviath ... heavy.html

... yeah, clarification would help :)

Sorry for the late response to my own post. My rod is the MB Orochi XX Leviathan F10-80XX. I really like the Moderate action of my MB BJ Power Versatile and wish I could find an F8 Swimbail rod with that action. Looks like the Omega Leviathan might work. Thanks for the responses.

Destroyer TS BlackJack if you're looking fkr somethjng higher end. It's rated to 4oz but handles up to 6oz easily with the right casting mechanic.
