Re: 2021 steez ags rods
I am a little surprised to see that the overall sentiment is that the 7'6MML is the most versatile of the bunch. Normally a rod with that length would be highly specialized. I will also say seeing everyone hyping it up online makes it really hard not to pick one up. Good thing they are pretty much out of stock everywhere right now.

Has anyone broken one ?
I think I’m going to just buy another soon

I don’t do the versatility deal. I buy specific combos for specific baits. Regarding 7’6” as a smallmouth guy that’s pretty much bread and butter as there aren’t many that pursue brown bass that don’t have a few 7’6” spins and or been through a bunch dialing them in over the years for specific applications. Personally I wouldn’t throw a jerk bait on 7’6” anything.Firstoutfisher wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 6:51 pmI am a little surprised to see that the overall sentiment is that the 7'6MML is the most versatile of the bunch. I will type that I’ve fished a TON of upper end spins over the years and these hang with anything I’ve used. In my hands. Just my take. I have four of the casting models inbound that cover everything I do with a casting rod for smallmouth.
Happy shopping sir.

Did you mean "7-6 ML/M" in your "For dropshot 7-1 ML" statement?Thunderblack1984 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 4:51 amI have two of the spinners. The 7-6 ML/M and the 7'-1 M. ... For dropshot 7-1 ML. Versatility and also dropshot go with the 7-6. ...

No, the 7-1 ML was what I was referring to. They both can do drop shot though.

Was only asking because you said that you had two of the spinning rods: 7-6 ML/M and the 7-1 M.Thunderblack1984 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 11:01 amNo, the 7-1 ML was what I was referring to. They both can do drop shot though.
But you referenced the 7-1 ML, which would be a third rod, not the other two rods. So, a little confused
I agree about the new Compile X 7'6" MML. Compared to the previous generation 7'6" MML it is a definite upgrade in my hands. And the previous generation rod was no "slouch". That rod replaced my Conquest 902S.
The Compile X 7'6" MML is used on every trip for finesse plastics, including drop shots, and it will likely be with me for awhile. Seriously looking at the 7'1" M spinner for the times I "walk the banks" rather than fishing from a boat.

Doc

Hey Doc, you are correct I don't own the new gen 7-1 ML but hav owned the previous gen ones in that model. I have the others in the new gen. They are all winners! Go after the M F!

For those of you using the target sniper what reels have you tried/settled on? My primary usage will be skipping other than that will use as all around kayak rod. Still trying to decide what to throw on it and my OCD excitement driving me crazy, haha.

Re: 2021 steez ags rods
How does the bottom contact II compare sensitivity wise to the nrx 893c? I had the first gen bottom contact and was not impressed. The rod was noticeably less sensitive than the nrx and the tip was a lot softer than I expected.
Re: 2021 steez ags rods
Comparing the Bottom Contact Rod to the NRX 893 doesn’t feel like an apples-to-apples comparison. The former is a true MH/Heavy jig rod rated up to 1oz (12-25lbs line rating), the latter is a MH/3-power rod rated up to 5/8oz (12-16lbs line rating). Doesn’t matter how much more sensitive the BC2 is (I remember several favorable comparisons to other jig rods in the sensitivity department), it’ll be incredibly hard to measure up to a rod that’s a power lighter.
