Thanks so much for the weights and balance pic! Would it be possible to post the weight for the 7' 9"? Thanks!

Weights

New Steez Bottom Contact II is 4.2oz

Original is 5.3 oz

Here is a balance pic with steez a no line

https://flic.kr/p/2m6dyMv

The 73 is 3.8 oz

For reference a custom point blank 73 mh with full ti torzite guides is 3.6 oz

But the Steez is a touch more powerful

Also these casting rods have 3 double footed guides to start

The original bottom contact only has 1 double foot guide

The 79 H weighs: 4.6 oz

so it is lighter than the original bottom contact (5.3oz) and Megabass Wildbunch (5.1oz)

I want to say the 73mh was 3.8 oz

Just got my BC II in from The Tackletrap.

Here are a few pics comparing it to a racing design looks wise, BC II on the bottom and the left, along with the balance of the rod and a IP79L.

Never selling the racing designs, but these new Steez rods are a cheaper alternative, they are basically a Racing Design "LITE"

Do the guides in the new BC look the same as the racing design?

701MMHXB-SMT "The Sensor" with PX Type R, feels nice in hand but haven't been able to fish it yet. May also try it with an Alphas SV105

You're welcome and thank you for picking one up! The original Bottom Contact created some tough shoes to fill, but I think the new one will hold its own weight as more of them get out there and guys start using and talking about it.

It's very difficult to pick standouts in this line up as I have a lot of time and energy invested in them, but I'll be glad to offer a few brief thoughts and insights into my time on the water with a few models. The new 76MML is another one that has very big shoes to fill and I think the new version will prove out to be legendary as well. 21 Steez has some really impressive offerings across the board. I love the 79H. It is just so versatile and is a load of fun to fish. The 69MH is the same way. I've skipped jigs, thrown a full sized Vixen, jack hammers, spinner baits, buzz baits, larger square bills in heavier wood cover, a Senko around the grass, and on and on. The 72M I've thrown DT10's, flukes, spinner baits, Senko, finesse jigs, lipless, jerk baits, etc. They were built with overall versatility in mind rather than being technique specific which I find to be a very good thing in a high end, top quality flagship rod from a company like Daiwa.

Gary how is the 79H for pitching/flipping jigs and plastics? i find myself wanting one of each of the 21 steez rods ](*,)

I can't wait for my BCII to arrive so i can compare it to the original, which is my favorite rod to date.
