My rod just came in today and ill have to go back and weigh the 7'6 mml ags rod again cause i was in a rush before i went to work. But when i weighed the rod, it came in at 3.45 oz on my scale. I was in a hurry so let me reconfirm that weight when i get home.

Gary, have you been able to fish “the sensor” at all? I’m interested to hear your thoughts on the titanium tip. Also, how does it balance with a lighter reel like a steez ct sv or pixy?
Yes, I've fished all these models for months now through prototype to final version phases. I have fished The Sensor with a Steez CT and 10# Daiwa J-Fluoro Samurai most recently throwing light t-rigs and a 1/4 oz finesse jig. Balance is what I'd consider good, not perfect, but not overly tip heavy either with the Steez CT. The balance point is just at the front of the lock nut at the blank junction.

How was titanium tip with light t-rigs and 1/4oz finesse jigs? Just curious if it's too flexible or soft. I've tried other medium rods with titanium tips that were softer than what I wanted but this one is listed as M-MH.

The concept of The Sensor is focused specifically on shaky heads, lighter Texas rigs and jigs. It's one of the only more "technique specific" examples in the entire 21 Steez line up. It's the only rod in the series with the SMT and it's definitely extra fast in action, but not so much that it impedes performance as I've also seen with some other rods. The additional backbone this model features lends itself to those lighter bottom contact presentations without allowing the SMT to overshadow its power. I've also found that it handles a wacky Senko and a fluke type bait nicely.

Do you have the old black and blue model to compare it to? (Not the weight but the action/power)

Ok so comparing the new Steez bc2 to the orginal bc

Here ya go

First weight ...

The new one is an ounce lighter

The new one has 1 more guide in the guide train also

The new one has a slightly longer handle not much though

The blank diameter on the new one in between the split grips is also larger in diameter. Not sure if they modeled these after a point blank taper but they upped the butt diameter

Here they are on the deflection chart

The new one is up front.

ImageUntitled by benjie bates, on Flickr

When I first got the new one I was like oh this one is less powerful but that isn’t the case it’s just a lot lighter and threw me off plus I didn’t have the original at the office to compare.

Both are great. I’m not getting rid of my original.

I’m going to keep both models and compare with more on the water

If you don’t have one then I would get in a pre order and get the new one.

If you have the original and like it I would probably just buy a different model in the new line and keep the original unless saving the weight is worth it to you.

I got the new one mainly because I fish both inshore and bass fish. This year I’ll be on the saltwater more than fresh.

I’ve got the svtw and Zpi spool on my original I won’t take that in the salt and it’s freshwater use only.

But I still enjoy fishing high end gear so I’ll take the new one out though in the salt with steez a and fish it from time to time
