Yes I definitely like the styling and so happy they went with cork

again i haven't fished these at all, the brown truck just left so by no means take this as a review, but since they are new I wanted to share my thoughts.

the biggest initial impression of these is the weight and how light they feel in the hand. I put steez a on these to get a feel for them for reference.

I was a big fan of the reel seat on the original bottom contact so glad it carried over

speaking of the original bottom contact, I personally love that rod, and if you have one and like it I wouldn't get rid of the original if you like it.

just based on feel the new BC II, is definitely alot lighter, a touch less power and probably a tad more versatile so if that speaks to you then you will like this rod. I cannot wait to go tie on a zoom ultravibe magnum on this thing and go fish.

I know some complained that the original was too heavy or felt like a broom stick, and it was probably a H vs. MH-H but that rod to me is a perfect light texas rig rod, I love fishing the pads in the St. Johns with that rod, it really shines there for me so for some they might like the original and want to keep it but overall its less versatile than the new one.

So just depending on what you want I hope that gives you an idea as to my initial take, I can put both of them on deflection chart at some point to compare power when I have some time

After spending some time with them they are very close in power and action. I think the initial feel of the rod being an ounce lighter made me think it was less powerful which I still think it is but by as much as I initially thought

the 79 doesn't feel like a 79 length rod. its light, probably more of a mod fast than a true fast, with the steez a it does balance a touch in front of the hood of the reel seat but with the rod being so light overall it doesn't feel out of balance

I understand what Gary said about the sensor not being perfect balance, this rod would probably be the same way, its not prefect, but its alot better than most and it so light you really don't notice it.

overall though this is going to be a great rod and surprise alot of people with what i think it will be able to do

then the 73, I am super excited to get it out on the water with this one in particular

i think it will live up to its name as the utility player and do alot of things great.

after talking with Gary I believe the intent of these rods was for them to do alot of things and be versatile thus when you look at the techniques on the daiwa sites you see alot of various techniques listed for each rod

initially i would say that is correct, these rods will do a lot, definitely a series where you can buy a couple and literally just fish them and swap out baits throughout the day so. I could take these 3 out to the lake or river this afternoon and cover anything that I wanted to do technique wise save for throwing a big swimbait or heavy punching with these 3 and in high end rods that is what I am looking for, sure there are a few techniques that I want a specialized for and have those but in general I like being able to take a handful of rods and be off fishing with them

more as I get some time on the water with them but pleased so far

Where the the BCII balance at with the Steez A?
Mine doesn't come in until Monday.

The resemblance to my racing designs is uncanny, these are like the "Lite Version" of the Racing designs.

For reference a custom point blank 73 mh with full ti torzite guides is 3.6 oz

But the Steez is a touch more powerful

Also these casting rods have 3 double footed guides to start

The original bottom contact only has 1 double foot guide

The trigger is too far "forward" for me either way. I had to sell my one Rebellion rod for that reason.

is that it?? i have a 6'10 mh reg rebellion, and love the blank but something with seat doesn't work for me either. my fingers end up getting crunched together

I’m looking at the tachyon shaft or super destroyer for the p5.

Looking at the 6’9” steez.

I do love the p5’s though.
