Any reports on the new 761 yet? I have the original and am slowly talking myself into getting the new version. I can't imagine a spinning rod being much better than the blue 761. And thanks for your reply on that other thread about the Hogfarmer swimbaits. I'm going to give those a shot.Drakestar wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 2:02 pmI couldn't resist, and Gary had one in stock... so now I have two 761MML, a blue and a red one. Haven't been able to fish it yet, but handling it, I like it: lighter than the last one, I like the guide arrangement better (the stripper guide is higher up the blank and thus smaller, the guide before the tip top is a bit lower, which should lead to less tangles around the blank), and the rod looks very cool.
Only question I have: if you have two "The One"s, are they actually The One?

There's some initial experiences and opinions posted if you go back through the last two pages of the thread.Junk Fisherman wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 4:51 amAny reports on the new 761 yet? If you are even thinking about the 7-6 in the new version do it. You'll like it. These rods in my opinion are nicer than NRX.

Re: 2021 steez ags rods
For those who have the 6'9 medium versatile, can anyone compare the power and taper to either the X7 Super Eiger or K2 683ml? I'm after a short rod with roughly an extra half or so more power. I'm also eyeballing the Evergreen Orion Lightning Strike. I'm not comfortable fishing over a half ounce total weight on either my Super Eiger or K2. Even a half ounce is pushing it imo. Also curious how sensitive and overall feedback compares.

Re: 2021 steez ags rods
Here's my response from the other thread...
The 21 Steez AGS 69M Universal Light has more power than the X7 Super Eiger. The SE is more strong ML whereas the Universal Light is a Medium, highly versatile rod. There is somewhere around a 1/2 power difference in favor of the Steez, maybe a shade more. The action of the Steez is on the faster side of moderate fast, again which lends itself to versatility. Truly and awesome rod. I can take it and the 69MH Target Sniper out on the kayak and cover an incredible variety of techniques.
Sensitivity is fantastic as well. It is every bit as sensitive as the Super Eiger if not more so. Across the board, the sensitivity on this entire line up is spectacular.

Dang it Gary! I was honestly hoping you'd say it's crap haha. I appreciate the response. Sounds like a fantastic stick.bronzefly wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 12:21 pmHere's my response from the other thread...

Finally had time this morning to fish "the sensor" and it is a fantastic rod. There was one cast that i had a overrun and while picking out the line i could feel that thump where the fish grabbed my lure. So i would say its a pretty sensitive rod for me lol

Looking at pictures of the 6'9 medium universal light, it appears to have a fixed hook keeper on the bottom of the top split grip?

The final version comes with and adjustable Daiwa hook keeper, but no permanent factory mounted hook keeper. A few prototype models had a hook keeper installed from the factory.Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 11:46 pmLooking at pictures of the 6'9 medium universal light, it appears to have a fixed hook keeper on the bottom of the top split grip?

I'm really glad to be seeing people digging the 7'2" H. I just got my Utility Player in, and the Power Pitch is one that feels like it can do SO much as well.

Yeah the 72 h was a late addition.
I got the 79 h first it’s great super versatile
But I’m really digging the 72h here lately
Great rod versatile and super lightweight

I got the 7'1 medium spinning rod yesterday. I ordered a Wind Buster from the Tackle Trap and UPS broke the rod. I ended up swapping it with the Steez. The taper feels like it should be a great tube, weightless senko, and neko rig rod.

Hobey, great decision to switch over. The 7-1 is on my rod rack and will be hitting the water very soon.

I definitely like the Steez uplocking grip a lot better than the skeleton on the Wind Buster. I put a Japan made Luvias LT on it and balances perfect.Thunderblack1984 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 6:14 amHobey, great decision to switch over.
