Old School G Loomis

Post by goldrod » Mon Jun 14, 2021 8:30 am

The two oldest rods I own are the Loomis SBR812 and IMX843
Both now have the conquest 100hg DC on them and I like both setups but the most versatile is the IMX843 but I use them both for spinnerbaits.
I use lighter test on the longer rod and heavier on the shorter rod because in my mind that short rod needs to stickem and horse them

I’ve have theses rods for years and this year I’m getting more into spinnerbaits
Maybe some JDM’s later on but for now I have some good oldies. I’ve gained more confidence in knowing when and where to use them (i.e. anytime anywhere 😆) and surprisingly have caught some bigger fish
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible

Have both the SBR752C and the SBR812C for spinnerbaits and really enjoy them both. Have an Antares AR on the 752 and a Calais 100A on the 812.

my oldest Loomis is an SJR700 GL3 that i bought in 2004. its a gem of a rod.

back then i used a stradic 1000 on it, now I use a Saros 1000. its perfect with 6 pound test Sufix Siege.
