Re: Anyone has the Abu Garcia Fantasista Med light
I've had one for a couple of years. I mainly use it for light Texas rigged worms or light jigs. I consider it more of a power BFS rod (light tip to more of a medium power backbone). It has a great tip for bottom fishing. It's got a true JDM backbone, where the rod flexes further down to it's butt, while fighting a fish. I need to fish this rod more.

It's not bad for a $150 rod . Sierra Trading Post had a great clearance deal on the Regista model. Sorry, I plan on keeping this ML rod.

You can still get a new one for way too much money (since they were going for $150 at sierra trading post apparently).

I bought one with a 20% off coupon two years ago (so like $260) and haven't used it much but it seems like a great rod. It was described very well in a previous comment. Light tip with a strong backbone.
Hoohoorjoo (Tim) helped me decide on that rod when I was looking for a sensitive medium light rod for bottom contact and if you search his posts he says a lot of good things about it.

Oh yeah I meant the Abu Fantasista Premier rod

Re: Anyone has the Abu Garcia Fantasista Med light
i like the rod for 3/16-1/4oz t-rigs & jigs, but the tip feels overpowered to me with anything more. i've actually used it more for 3/16oz crappie jigs than i have anything else.goldrod wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 4:44 pmI had that rod and sold it.Jason Penn wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 4:25 pmany experience with the daiwa tatula elite m-mh, and how these rods compare? i keep hoping daiwa will make a ml-m version. maybe the abu is just what i'm looking for.Schlag wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 3:51 amI've had one for a couple of years. i actually sent brent ehler a msg on instagram suggesting a ml-m version of the rod. i think it would actually make more sense than m-mh

it seems to me like it wouldn't really cost daiwa much more to take the steez mml and just use that blank
