I would agree on the 7' medium spinning rod as something "all-around."

I plan on picking up the 6'10" ML and the 7' M

well, that was quick. with the Shimano price increase effective today, the Expride A spinning rods disappeared from TackleWarehouse. Still a couple models of casting rods...

I heard the new exprides are heavier in terms of weight that the previous version. Also where does the blank end on the new ones behind the reel seat or before?

The opposite is true - the new Exprides are lighter by 10-15%.

I picked up the 610 MH casting… it was labeled as “versatile” but was very stiff in my opinion. I rigged up a few different options on it and didn’t like the feel at all.

To me, shimano made the new handle wrong.
You're just holding it wrong!
Seriously! I don't know how you hold behind!
When I hold all my fingers in front of reel my knuckles hit the bail sometimes and close it mid cast. It's more comfortable to hold in front of reel on retrieve and better leverage for hooksets. I cast two fingers behind, two in front and switch my grip for retrieve.

Any idea when these are coming back in stock? They look to be sold out everywhere and TW shows September for a re-stock?!?!

I’m not sure that anybody here will have better information that a retailer like TW, who are getting delivery ETAs straight from Shimano. (Gary would be the exception, but I don’t think TTT Carrie’s Exprides.)

TW has them available for preorder with a Sep 24 ETA. For what it’s worth, I’d ordered a new Stella months ago, TW’s delivery estimate on the order was the same as what shows on their product page (also Sep 24), and I actually received the reel on Friday. So their ETAs aren’t always accurate, but you need to be in the queue. I expect the Expride estimates to be pushed back and back as more preorders pile up, they might not have excess stock for a while. Or maybe they will, who knows with the supply line these days…

I'm eyeing the 7'2" ML. For hair jigs, steelhead and walleye. I have a 7'6 ML Fenwick HMG and it's nice for steelies and hair jigs kinda annoyingly long for jigging 'eyes. I'm not big on the grip, I like getting a finger on the blank when retrieving but it's about as much as I like for spinning gear and probably the best option at that price point for sensitivity.

Might be a while due to the zero-Covid policy that China has...a lot of other retail and manufacturing sectors are being affected, including medical because of the shutdown.
