Valkyrie VKC-78H-4

Post by Bay_Bassin86 » Tue Jun 21, 2022 7:27 pm

Hello

Does anyone have any experience with this rod? The length really caught my eye specially since I fish from shore. I mainly toss 3/8oz Warbaits underspins with a 4” swimbait to and occasional 3/8oz t-rigs to beat the skunk and weedless 5-6” swimbaits in the bays. How well would this rod do at those applications?

Thanks

I use it for musky and glide baits for bass lol. Most everything i use is between 1.5 to 4oz.

I ended up picking one up. It’s a very impressive rod it’s fairly sensitive for being a carbon/glass blank. I’m using it for 4-6” paddletails in the bay but now I’m looking at Triza dragoon. I need a little bit more sensitive of a rod that can toss 3/8oz Texas rigs and 3/8-1/2oz jigs but has a lot of power to pull the spotted bay bass away from cover asap.

I ended picking up a 78H-4 it’s a super impressive rod being able to load and launch a 3/8oz jig head with a diezel minnow a pretty good distance for a rod rated to 4.2oz. I’m now looking at the VKC-68M-4 for more of a all around rod for t-rigs to top water
