Daiwa Kage walleye 761MLXS

Has anyone used this rod...? 7'6" medium light extra fast. I'm curious about the sensitivity when using bottom contact techniques, as well as how it casts lures in its weight range, primarily in the lower half of its range.

Thanks in advance!

I have talked with tackle trap on that rod and heard it was a great model. I fished the 7-6 ML and 7-1 ML in the tatula line which is very similar and they are very sensitive rods. You'll like it.

Ooooohhh! My 7'1" ML Tatula was my favourite spinning rod! Sounds like I need this one. Thanks for the input.

If you pick one up let me know what you think of it. I bet its a winner.

I received the rod last week, but some mouth breathing broad named Fiona ruined my plans to try it over the weekend. What I can tell you from handling it is that it's well balanced with a Zaion bodied 2506 Daiwa reel, feels extremely light and crisp, and looks killer, especially if you like the understated kind of look (which I do). Also of note is the guidetrain: aside from the obvious difference between the Alconite and Fazlite guides, the guides themselves are physically smaller on the Kage versus the Tatula of the same length. I'm really hopefully to get out on Friday which is our last day of bass season up here. I'll keep you posted.

I got out and fished it yesterday. No fish on it but I can definitely say it's more sensitive and crisp than the Tatula. I could easily distinguish bottom composition more easily and it balances beautifully for either tip up or tip down presentations depending on how many fingers you have in front of the reel foot. That's with a Caldia 2506.

I've fished with this exact rod for over two years. Right now, I have a JDM Caldia MQ 4000CXH on it with 10lb. braid. I have used this for hair jigs up north in NY and really for anything finesse. It fishes an Okashira and 3" Hazedong like a champ. It is a killer Ned rod and excellent for small tubes, grubs, and I have drop shotted with it without hesitation. It's a go to for sure! Outside of my Megabass spinning rods, this is my go to for most everything! I hope this helps. Best wishes on the water!

It definitely validates my choice, thanks! I know what lineup of rods I'm going to be looking at if I'm in the market for a new one.
