Gary,
I am eyeing the P5 FMJ. What would you consider the upper range of what it can handle? Would it be okay to throw a 3/4 jig with 5 inch twin tail?

any idea on how long the delay will be with the Flyssa? i broke mine last spring (my fault) and am super excited to get a new one when they come out!
Flyssa, Addermine, and Javelin are expected "Summer 2023" at this point.

I was out on the water today with 6 casting models and enjoyed my time thoroughly. I think folks are going to be happy with this new series. Some dealers are set to begin receiving and shipping available models next week, but quantities are limited on this first go around it appears!
Nice. I am looking forward to fishing with mine!

I'd want the BMG for that application without a doubt. I haven't yet thrown any 3/4 oz jigs with large trailers on the FMJ, but I believe that is on the upper limit of what I'd like based on what I've felt so far.

I'm excited for guys to get these out on the water soon. The overall feel and versatility of these rods is fantastic as we'd expect from Megabass. I know the general idea is that a flipping stick makes a horrible umbrella rig rod, but since the Jungle Seven didn't need to do any heavy cover flipping/grass fishing, I threw a 3 arm Hog Farmer with small heads/baits on it this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised how well it worked. The J7 has a nice deeper flex to the blank which will certainly add it is versatility rather than being a dedicated flipping stick only...

Thanks Gary! All of us in the North Country truly appreciate a great looking bass picture while we deal with yet another snowstorm today!

Any word on when the new P5 USA Javelins will debut yet? [-o<

Thank you! I'll be back out slinging baits Saturday. The forecast is sunny and nearing 60 degrees 8-) I don't envy the winter conditions my northern friends face, but your summers are amazing and much more pleasant than ours.

Yes, Javelin, Flyssa, and Addermine are scheduled for "summer 2023" with no more specific dates just yet.

Thank Gary! Good luck this weekend! I get to take some of my extended family members ice fishing this weekend. Yay me!

The only thing interesting about ice fishing these days is using my Lowrance Active Target to find fish! :big grin:

How's the FMJ balance with something like a Steez A?

I presently have a US Zillion G SV TW on mine and really like the overall feel of that combo and Steez A has the same weight at 6.7 oz.

Guys - several went out today, but due to late in the day arrival, the rest are shipping Monday! I'm off in the AM to give them another workout in the sweet sunny South!

It feels perfect with a Steez A. With the finger thing it balances on the wrapping right above the locknut but I don’t have much line on the reel rn.

P5 FMJ fit and finish is a 10/10 as expected but:
1. Stiffer tip than anticipated
2. More tip heavy than anticipated

Ice fishing now so no on-the-water review from me anytime soon. Curado 70 mgl xg on the rod
