I have multiple JDM and US Zillions. I honestly couldn’t tell you which ones are which without pulling the reels off the rods and looking at the reel stems.robertjb7771 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 2:13 pm(Re: Zillion TW HD ‘22

Up for preorder at Plat. Made in Japan and reasonably priced. )
Good Point I've been looking as well, usually digitaka will have it listed on their site before its in stock and i haven't even seen that yet.

Re: Zillion TW HD ‘22
Cool reel...BUT what makes it HD?
A spool change to me does not qualify. Nothing is beefed up other than the handle.
Happy to have choices but this is more of an HLC than HD.

Can you feel or detect any differences in the retrieve between the two models?HobeyBaker wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 8:30 pmI have multiple JDM and US Zillions. I know there are different gear materials. I can't tell any difference, but maybe that is due to only having limited use.Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 2:47 pmCan you feel or detect any differences in the retrieve between the two models?HobeyBaker wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 8:30 pmI have multiple JDM and US Zillions. Re: Zillion TW HD ‘22
I was able to put my hands on the new Zillion HD today in a local tackle shop. In my perspective it’s one of if not the most beautiful reels out. I’m a black on black guy though. How does the Magforce Z Boost braking differ from the system in the 21 Zillions? I’ve picked up two 8.5 Zillions and one 6.3 in the past month and was stepping out to replace all my reels with new Zillions but may go the HD route moving forward if there’s little to no difference. Thanks for entertaining my questions.

Which shop if I may ask? I picked up a nib Jdream sitting on the shelf in one of the stores in Ginowan for $250. Have you been to Yellowfish in Chatan? There are some treasures that come through that shopKimbro1014 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 2:53 amI was able to put my hands on the new Zillion HD today in a local tackle shop. Are prices at shops in Japan comparable to the Japanese online site like Digitaka?Kimbro1014 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 2:53 amI was able to put my hands on the new Zillion HD today in a local tackle shop. I believe Magforce Z is intended for heavier lures. The SV boost system allows for better distance casting, so I'm assuming this spool would be a distance caster for heavier lures (traps, frogs, etc). I believe it's the same spool or braking that is in the new Steez A HLC.

I don’t know which store, the one on 58 by Foster. I’m not sure what the name is. We need to link up and hit the shops. I’ve been to a couple on 58 and a couple out in Uruma. PM me if you want to link up.

HobeyBaker, The price for the Zillion HD is $329 based on today’s yen rate. I’ve been picking up the 21 Zillions for $268-271 depending on currency fluctuation. I’ve picked up three so far but I’ve only been on the island for two months. I need to sell off my old arsenal so my wife doesn’t murder me as I continue to stockpile new stuff.HobeyBaker wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 5:32 amAre prices at shops in Japan comparable to the Japanese online site like Digitaka?Kimbro1014 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 2:53 amI was able to put my hands on the new Zillion HD today in a local tackle shop. Spools are different because in Steez A is 36 mm spool and in Zillion TW HD ‘22 is 34 mm spool. Braking system is obviously same because it's Magforce-Z Boost in both reels.HobeyBaker wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 5:32 amI believe it's the same spool or braking that is in the new Steez A HLC.
Re: Zillion TW HD ‘22
I don’t live there, just pass through every now and then. The two main ones on 58 are a bit overpriced. I highly suggest finding yellowfish…it’s off 58 near where 130 dumps into it. A lot of used gear for very good prices. Tackleberry off 58 in Naha is good too. These are the only two stores you can consistently find freshwater lures. I’ll hit you up next time I pass through.Kimbro1014 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 6:57 amJnkoepp wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 4:55 amWhich shop if I may ask? 36mm dia Machined G1 air craft grade extra strong duralumin spool
I think spool size (36 mm) actually is Hyper Long Cast function in Steez A HLC. Because there is not HLC brake, there is Mag-Z Boost brake.
