Official ICAST 2022 Post...

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

The below link to the BASS site has some pre-icast announcements, so not exactly leaks.

Check out the trigger on the new st croix swimbait rods. More of a pistol grip.

The Greenfish Tackle swimbait head looks like a ripoff of the Smeltinator jig.

The trigger reel seats have been available for a few years and are popular in the musky world. I think Pac Bay makes them.

Well unfortunately I haven't got my design/idea up and running for 2022. Maybe I will luck out and share/sell my idea for ICAST 2023... Anyone know any company hook ups let me know!!!

All being said, nothing major terminal tackle this year yet. I am always scared someone will beat me to it. I bet before long we see a Bellows Gill knock off.

Yeah but what is knocked off? Are you just talking about the color?

I’m pretty sure it’s the weight system on the bait. The ball bearing is molded into the bottom of the bait where you can see it on the outside of the bait

The “outside” weight and yes, the color ginrin too. Nobody else makes a color like that. A lot of pros use this as one of the old “un-named” lures so it was due. It may or may not be the weight system but the blitz max DR is KILLER. My number one lure by far…especially in that color.

Most people don’t know that the aruku Shad was a blatant knockoff too (viper risebacker). Spro seems to go after the obscure JDM “secret” baits

Along these lines, by now it seems like every bait manufacturer has a near identical looking 110 kickoff. But the Spro McStick was an early one. There’s been two separate podcast shows where I’ve heard McLelland talk about in great depth how he ‘designed’ the McStick. It’s laughable.
