$100 reels........

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

spinning: Daiwa ssTournament 1300. Discontinued this year but available on e-bay. I use it for just about everything even double digit cats spooled with 20 or 30 lb. briad. replacment spools are pricey around 35 buck.
round baitcat: shimano cardiff, discontinued but still available (if you look) pflueger trion 66. The pflueger is manufactured like reels twice it's price, like the lunas and calcuttas: machined bar-stock aluminum frame and sideplates, mulltiple bearings etc. E-Bay hint: look for reels whose seller has mispelled the name. Perfect example I scored a Daiwa Millionaire CVZ for $75 just because the seller spelled Daiwa as Diawa. Only one bid, mine! Made in Japan too.

I own many of the Shimano Citicas and for the price you really cant beat them. I have some i been using for 4 years now and with a little tlc each year they keep on going.

Anyone had much experience with the Shimano Caenan
Dobyns Rods
Lews Reels
Humminbird/MinnKota

Wow no love for the Shimano Cardiff. 100,200,300,or 400 series all solid reels.
