Which has a lower profile

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Which has a lower profile

Post by jiggerjake » Wed Mar 02, 2011 2:36 pm

What reel sports a lower profile, the Shimano Curado E7 or the Chronarch D7? I have a fiberglass crank bait rod with a LARGE diameter handle and reel seat that I need something for.I have a Premier on it but thats sits higher than my Curado.I don't have a D7 to compare with.Any other suggestions are appreciated-centrifugal or dual brakes only.

The Curado sits lower than the D7 but I find the D7 more comfortable to hold. Both are comfortable to me though.

Yep, Curado has the lower profile. It is also more comfortable IMO, but this purely personal preference.

The Curado does sit lower.

But like the above posts have said, it's all personal preference. I find the Curado reels very uncomfortable.

Agreed...the curado sits lower. I find both comfortable, but the E7 definitely has the lower profile.
