Converted a Curado 201E7 to a Curado 201E5

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Converted a Curado 201E7 to a Curado 201E5

Post by froteur » Sun Apr 22, 2012 2:14 pm

Picked up a 5:1 gear set here on TT. The picked up a "used" Curado 201E7 (I love this forum --- the "used" reel was almost brand new). :big grin: :big grin:

Sent them both off to my Shimano reel guy, Dan Isaac. Got the reel back on Thursday and took it with me to the Delta yesterday.

I LOVE this reel!!!! I'm mostly a Daiwa guy but really liked this E series of Curados. But ..... I was really ticked that they didn't make a lefty 5 to 1 retrieve. This now solves my problem!

I am a happy camper. :big grin: :big grin: :big grin:

Nice...I was going to do this with one of my 201e7's. I also wished they would have offered this from the factory.

nicely done! I had bought a 200E5 and couldn't get used to winding with my right hand, I sold it and bought a Winch.
