First Impressions Curado I 200

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

have the CU200i HG spooled with 30lb 832 braid and Cronarch Ci4 spooled with 15lb Tatsu both new this year and though both used for different applications they preform equally well. My first small Curado ever having 2 of the 300 series along with my 6 calcutta's the 200i HG has proven to be an amazing addition.

Wanted to update this.... added 2 plastic shims behind "spacer b" on the side plate.... this worked and resolved my issue..... however I do believe that this spool was improperly located on the shaft from the factory. ...... interested to see if more of these issues pop up with the left handed reels or if this was a freak of nature. .only way to truly know is to buy one in each gear ratio..lol... I absolutely love this reel. ....

I found my line counter and measured some casts today, using a 3/8 oz rooster tail with 2 brakes on and dial set to 1 I measured several casts at 100 ft. no thumb needed, even when it touched down. I went down to 1 brake and measured 135ft consistently on several casts, no thumb needed. Im sure I could hit 50 yards with a taller rod( I was using 6'6 ft) and a little loosening of the spool tension knob.

I notice going from 1 brake to 2 cuts casting down considerably. Definitely much harder to backlash on 2 brakes even in the wind. I normally keep spool tension really loose. I got a 201 and 201hg last week so Im just finally getting around to using them. I have the 201hg spooled with 50lb sufix. I plan to put 14lb siege or 20lb castable fluoro in the 201. Not sure what I'll use the 201 for yet but I had to have it

I really like my Curado... But I like the Ci4 just a little better : )
Now, maybe when I upgrade the handle on the ci4, the Curado will get that handle and the bearings will make it a little more awesome!
