Inductor Swaps
Inductor Swaps
I have one too many SV spools and I was thinking about taking the inductor off of it and putting it
on the Steez sha spool. You many know something that I don’t so I’m asking if anyone has done anything of the
sort before? I know the tackle Trap sells the one spool with the upgraded inductor so inductor swaps can’t
be an original idea. Standing by for anyone whose done it to chime in.

Re: Inductor Swaps
You'd have to change the ramp as well. The SV spools need the angled base where the inductor sits to have the twisting SV action.

Re: Inductor Swaps
You can not turn a non SV spool into a SV spool. Too many differences.

Thanks
My next question would be are all the non sv spool inductors interchangeable?

Re: Inductor Swaps
There is someone around that does put sv inductors on non sv spools. I don't know his name but I think he has posted it somewhere on tt.
What he does is file off the legs on the ramp and superglue it in place.

Here's the link to the thread. viewtopic.php?f=30&t=77657
He lists spools that aren't compatible, however, if you found the right size reamer, you could enlarge the hole on the SV inductor ramp parts to fit those spools.

Hi,
I made a video of inductor swap (sv inductor to Ray's DIY) and I changed also inductor ramp and swapped spring from sv spring to V spring:
Video is made mostly for Finnish people and it's Finnish spoken, but subtutles are in English.
Video is long but here is list of main points in video:
V -spool: ~2:40 (& ~16:20)
RAY's 'DIY' spool: ~04:15
sv tws Zilllionin std. spool: ~06:00
Inductor C - clip removal: ~06:55 (& ~17:20)
Spool pinn removal: ~07:50
Inductor activation ramp removal: ~09:45
Ray's 'DIY' inductor: ~11:55
Ray's 'DIY' activation ramp assembling: ~12:20
Working principle of sv brake: ~15:50 (& ~22:05)
V -spool: (~2:40) & ~16:20
Inductorin C - clip removal: (~06:55) & ~17:20
V- (ja Z-) induktor workimg principle: ~19:05
sv & V induktor spring rates: ~21:30
sv brake working principle: (~15:50) & ~22:05
C -clip assembling: ~25:15
Spool pinn assembling: ~28:00
Test casts: ~30:20
Direct links are in Youtube Video description.

There is a stickie in the maintenence section about doing just that. Its a little seat of your pants but works.PikeRoadBassn wrote: ↑Sat Aug 25, 2018 5:12 amYou can not turn a non SV spool into a SV spool. Too many differences.
Re: Inductor Swaps
I just writed to Google TackleTour Inductor Swap and found a topic which is not too old.
And now I corrected my link to Youtube. For some reason earlier link led to Tackletour site...
