2019 Daiwa Morethan PE 1000 TW
Re: 2019 Daiwa Morethan PE 1000 TW
The 8.6:1 can be had for as little as $365. Do Steez TW SV go for this low too? To me the Morethan is a Betterthan Steez with aluminum frame a bronze main gear. How can they go fo so cheap?

I wondered the same thing, when I bought mine from AsianPortal. Most of the listings on eBay are well north of $500.

Yeah, I said the same exact thing when I opened mine recently. Great feeling reel.

Resurrecting an old post: I'm wondering which Destroyer this is on. Is that an FMJ? (I'm running a Revo Premier on that rod, same gold accents, same killer look.) I've been eyeballing a Morethan for a Bunker Buster, wondering how it'll look.

Can anyone tell me where I can find the 8.6 in right hand for this low of a price? Seems like everyone on this forum bought them out on eBay lol. Next best price I can find is well over $400

I think that deal was restricted to the LH models and the 7.1 in RH.DeesnaytheAngler wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 2:57 pmCan anyone tell me where I can find the 8.6 in right hand for this low of a price? I recently ordered a 7:1 right-hand reel for $368 - couldn't find an 8.6:1 anywhere on eBay at the same price (and I looked a bunch!). Luckily I wanted the slower gear ratio, will see how the alu gears hold up. I guess this is where it pays off to be a leftie - less selection on occasion, but better discounts

This thread was a hard read all the way through. So many voices and I can't even began to tell you how many times i had to go back and ask "what are they talking about again?"
Great read, late for the party as always but glad I read through this thread because of the prices.. I recall buying the spool only for less than $100 but I saw them today for $180 PLUS SHIPPING.
I've seen a good reel but pictures were blurry. While I have you guys attention, how has this reel been for punchin, pitchin and flippin? I'm thinking of using it for those techniques with an avail handle..
thanks for your time and thanks for the read.. some great laughs for sure

It's a black Steez a with gold accents and bronze 8.6 gear option.

It seems that Daiwa claims that some internal components for the Morethan are replace with Saltwater compatible and more durable ones as compared to the Steez. Can anyone verify if that is true?

A Steez A is a saltwater compatible reel, so probably pretty similar overall.
Re: 2019 Daiwa Morethan PE 1000 TW
The only other differences I can think of in addition to the cosmetics and gears on the 8.6 already mentioned, are a different spool intended for PE line, a longer 100mm handle, and the new knobs. They are both magseeled reels so other than the brass gears in the 8.6, I can’t think of anything else that would distinguish them for salt use. As said earlier, the steez a was designed with salt use in mind also. Now compared to a regular steez sv, both the A and the morethan are better options for salt.Shadowcaster1969 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 2:23 amIt seems that Daiwa claims that some internal components for the Morethan are replace with Saltwater compatible and more durable ones as compared to the Steez. Thanks for the information. I was hoping that Daiwa had also included anti-rust ball bearings (like the ARB that Shimano uses) in addition to the MagSeal, because some of the main bearings, for example the main spool bearing on the opposite side of the drive shaft, are not MagSeal protected.
