That spool is awesome in T3's. It's also the best I've tried in the SS SV. The inductor is pretty short, so it gets wild in most Mag Z reels, but it's perfect for the SS's strong braking profile and the T3's Magforce 3D.Salty Parrot wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 6:53 pmI will check it out, does anyone know if arigato-japan-fishing is legit?Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 6:06 pmIf the spools performance doesn't quite light your fire, look to the G1 1012SV....OR, the Zpi nrc001MSalty Parrot wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 4:19 pmOrdered a 8.1 Lefty T3 SV off ebay from Japan, hope the reel comes looking like it does in the pictures.

Which "that spool"--the G1 or the ZPI?

What line do you guys run on the SV1000 spool
Re: Daiwa T3 1016 Reels today...
I run 20 lb Berkley Black Velvet braid on my T3 SV and mono on my T3 1016.
I have to say that I am no huge fan of the T3 series (haven’t tried the MX or Ballistic). Plastic feel and early signs of grooving are downers for me. Still, for some applications my stock reels perform great and with aftermarket spools I have uncovered a wealth of possibilities. At present, I keep my T3s in the back of my car along with various spools and tackle for many fishing situations.
I would, however, consider other more recent 34mm spool reels before the T3s if I was looking for a new reel today.

Re: Daiwa T3 1016 Reels today...
I have extra spool options I have for my Steez A that I can use in my T3, the only reason this reel sparked interest in me is because of the composite frame and brass gears. I fish alot of saltwater so I can give my Steez A a break from the salt. I also like the design and look of the reel a lot compared to some of the newer reels today.
Re: Daiwa T3 1016 Reels today...
apologies for digging up an old thread, recently obtained a T3 1016 as I love the look of the reel.
I had spoiled the original silver spool it came with and ordered an original that came.
At the same time, I also ordered the RCS 1016 SV G1 spool:
https://www.hedgehog-studio.co.jp/product/3763
Noted that the "original" spool that came was different from the one that came with the reel originally. But no fret.
I was wondering between these two spools, does anyone have any experience?
Which is better for distance casting/control etc? My type of fishing is typically distance casting with a 7g jighead and a zman slim swims 3' or a zminnow 3'.

Depends. The 1016 magforce spool it comes with is excellent for baits half ounce and up. The SV version will perform better with lighter baits. Both spools can achieve great distance, especially coupled with the 3D braking.AlexHGT wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 10:20 amapologies for digging up an old thread, recently obtained a T3 1016 as I love the look of the reel.
