AMO 32mm spool. Or I believe you can use original shallow spool for LTX, LT7
This one might also work

Have you got the AMO spool? I think mine is kind of defective. The hole on AMO spool shaft is smaller than original spool. It is tight fit and make it super hard to remove spool once inserted. I’m not sure how free floating spool design of Abu Garcia work? In my case both spool and pin spin together just like one unit (aka shimano long spool shaft).

Went to order the Black spool but they are not in stock. Strange that the spool fits so tight. Are you having any issues casting with the spool?
I may just order the red spool. Thanks.

Not really, I can cast 1/16oz jig with crappie plastic just fine. I haven’t try anything lower.

Thanks just ordered the red spool. Should arrive early April. I will let you know how it fits/works.
Got the 7.58 without all the porting. Thanks.

sorry to bump an old thread, but i was messing with an alx this morning. i noticed you have twice as many magnets as i have in the ones i have. how much does it improve the handling? i never had too many problems when i was using them, but i ordered a shallow spool and may need it to handle a little better on light baits.
also did you get the magnets from abu or is there better options?
thanks

You already got the PMed, but I wanna post a little info here. You might not need more magnet if you don’t have problem as of right now. I did have some problem control the spool when casting light lure and I learned that adding magnet or switch magnet field might help. There are some info on LTX BF8 where ppl configured magnet to their liking, either added, removed or rearranged the N and S field.

those little reels can get a little squirelly, but it wasn't too bad with 3/8oz + baits. i figure getting down in the lighter range may need a little more assistance.

once again thanks for replying to the pm, and for this post. i have thrown 1/8oz shakeyheads with the reel before, but it could be rather unpredictable. i'm hoping the shallow spool and extra magnets help.
