Steez CT SV 70 vs Alphas CT SV 70

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Where do you source the spacers to make a ct spool fit?

Not to speak out of turn, but there's a lot of parts other than spacers needed to make this happen. I forget all of them but you need the longer Alphas CT pinion which I think you can only get with the complete gear set, and a few other parts. My understanding is that it gets pricey pretty quickly.

Pricey doesn’t bother me too much. Have plenty into my other two pixy builds. Would just be cool to get an sv spool into one.

Going to need pinion gear from alphas ct, pinion shaft and Alphas ct worm gear to make it all work.

I don’t think that’s too bad to get a sv spool on the pixy. When I find another pixy I want I’ll definitely give it a try. Thank you for the knowledge folks.

Concerning the two reels at topic, how does the Millionaire stack up? I have been wanting a CT reel for a while, interested in the 30mm spool's performance. Just don't see a lot about it, does it cast the same as the other two? They do all share the same G1 30mm SV spool, right?

I know the Steez CT gears don't go into the other two, but does the Millionaire share gears with the Alphas CT?

I like how that pixy is true to form for the period with a straight carbon handle and cork knobs but also has that modern spool and brass gears. One of my favorite pixies I have seen.

Never tried the steez ct, but had the alphas ct gears in a couple of my alphas reels. Extremely smooth. But for now, no reels that i've tried under load are smoother than my zillion2021 with 12 steez tw bearings in it. Logically, the zillion is supposed to be smoother than the steez ct because aluminum doesn't feel as hollow as magnesium, and is better at dampeting the vibration.

I really love my Millionaire CT with the SV700S for general purpose finesse. It casts very well and is probably one of the smoothest reels I own. It really shines in that 2g to 7g range. I'm running 6lb Berkley x9 for what it's worth.

Appreciate it. That is what I am going to get. Getting the order ready now. I can give up the clicking drag and tension knob to get a ultra finesse Daiwa round reel...

I'm running a drag clicker I bought on Ali, ran me like $15. I bought a few sets; one for the Millionaire CT, one for the Alphas Air, one for my Alphas CT, and the last one left will be going into a RinGa SSS that will also have a 34mm Roro X and bearings to go along with it. My plan for the RinGa is to use a star wheel and clicker hardware, driveshaft, and handle bolt from a Millionaire CT and handle for a ASC to round it out. Round reels are my favorite. Those timeless looks just jive with me like nothing else.

See everyone I fish with doesn't like them, due to the ergonomics and palming. I actually think the newest Conquest palms better than low profiles from even 5 years ago or so. The Millionaire is a bit bigger I have learned, but I am still anxious to try one.

The Millionaire, while it isn't as palm friendly as the CQ, is still pretty comfy to palm. It still sits low on the reel seat but doesn't have the smaller diameter palm side plate like the CQ does. Compared to something like an Abu 4600, which sits higher on the reel foot, it palms very well. Additionally, I find round reels to balance better with more rods. That 7oz to 8oz range is my goldilocks zone. Just my opinion of course, but when it comes to feather weight low profiles like the Aldebaran, it tends to make some combos feel tip heavy which is more fatiguing for me personally.
