Tatula's got me confused...
I have to admit, I haven't been keeping up with new gear lately like I use to. Been happily plugging along with my TDZ's but lately have been thinking about getting a new reel for an extra rod laying around. All these Tatula models got me confused!
Just wanted to make sure I pick the right one for my purposes.
It will be going on a DX746 with 50lb braid.
Primary baits: Flippin 1/2oz jigs, t-rigs and hollow body frogs.
I would prefer a Tatula that can bomb frogs out there and double as a reliable flippin reel. From my looking around, I think a Tatula Elite would cover all these techniques. Any advantages/disadvantages between the Elite and the other ones (100, CT, SV TWS, SV TW, etc..)? Step up to a Zillion? Haven't bought a new reel in like, 10 years! Thanks for the input.

They make two separate, specific Tat’s for what you want: Elite Flip Pitch and Elite (“Longcast”). First will excel at flipping, the second would be a nice frog reel.
Re: Tatula's got me confused...
I have zero issues with the elite as a pitching/flipping reel

The Elite Long Cast version will bomb a frog and pitches very well. The spool is light and starts up easily.

I would stick to the TDZ's and forget the Tats are even a thing

Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Tatula Elite Long Cast is the one you want. The aluminum handle side plate in the LC and the P/F models is a nice upgrade over the others. You can certainly pitch with the LC perfectly fine, but the distance with ease that reel can achieve is impressive. It makes a GREAT frog reel.bassmaster_flex wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 11:40 amAll these Tatula models got me confused!
