What is the smoothest stock Daiwa reel you've ever used?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

PT33 3:8:1 gearing when using a heavy resistant crankbait. Also the newer Ryoga!
Haven't seen that mentioned in a long time. Way back in 1988 I snagged the PT33P and that thing was killer at that time.

This conversation/article doesn't mention anything about cranking, power or torque. Its all about finesse!

I don't have much experience with real new stuff, best I've had in my hand was called the Pluton I think. Might have been Daiwa's entry into the uber priced baitcasters, around the same time as Shimano Calcutta TEs.

Big honorable mention to my Millionaire CV-Z 253 and 300. 20+ years and countless fish down the road, and they still feel like new.

Hard to believe but my T3. Something about that round smooth gear pinion bearing shaft. Idk what it is but it feels smoother than my steez and IP
That's true, mine is still smooth and effortless after a huge amount of use. Maybe that's the reason they designed it that way... Hmmm...
This is the way.

Steez sv tw and alphas 105 sv
I got a new alphas sv tw since posting this and its also super smooth and i used my ss sv 103 over the weekend on my deep crank rod that i barley use and its silk also. All four of my daiwas are probably smoother than my high end shimanos and im a shimano fan boy

Thank you all for your replies. Super interesting to see what everyone favors.

Seems like
CT reels
Old Zillion frames especially Jdream
New Zillions and
More thans are the bulk of the baitcasters

Exist and Certate win spinning.

For "CT reels" definitely exclude the Tatula CT and Fuego CT. They are far from smooth and refined. Also, for all the talk of the Alphas CT smoothness what that reel really is, is an old Alphas 7.2:1 meaning that reels like the Alphas SV are equally smooth. The platform may be the same meaning that very old Alphas share gears with the Alphas SV but the brass gears and gear ratios that came on the Alphas SV and Alphas CT are stand out butter smooth for whatever reason.

Since my last post on this thread, i ordered the black bearings from the steez tw and installed all the 12 bearings inside the zillion1000. Under load, this thing is so much smoother than anything i have or have tried that its the new gold standard that all my future reels will be compared to. Its ridiculous.
