New Curado MGL 150

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

There's a link to the virtual ICAST tour and mention of the curado.

Reposting the pic of the top of the CU.

Anyone notice the gap?

So are these rocking aluminum gears? If so I would rather have the 70MGL... makes it very confusing...
They didn't saying anything about aluminum gears.

I do need a new workhorse. Hopefully it comes with the brass gear.

Looks pretty fantastic. I'll be trying one. Curado K frame was just a bit too big for my hands.

70 MGL 105 yds of 10lb line and 4 break pins
150 MGL 120 yds of 10lb line and 6 break pins

Weight is very close. What other differences are there?

The more and more you see / read it becomes more confusing...

Is this a new superceded reel of the K or another parallel platform to the K?

Maybe looks like the 70 with a deeper spool? Anyone?
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

So glad to hear it has brass gears. Someone assumed it must be aluminum in another thread because Shimano got the weight so low. I've got more faith in brass micro modules since my Chronarch MGL stopped buzzing. It had gotten grit inside somehow and disappeared, returning to above stock smoothness with a good cleansing and re grease. Now I would love to see the spool weight differences between the 70 MGL and 150 MGL...

The top piece seems like plastic, I think most reels gone this way to shape off some weight. Plastic nose piece and now top pieces.

I'd like to know where the $30 difference is too...

If that's the case, it's just marginally deeper.
