Seriously still no news about new '22 reels?

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

WOW! What a beautiful tackle, what are prices!!!
If in past when I was telling people my combo cost ~$1000 ( which was shocking info for 99%, and this is First World country...),
now I guess have to tell $1500 or so.
New Glorious model 1611ML / H looks really promising.

I'm sure it will be amazing given the track record but I gotta laugh a bit at the looks. It looks like an Aliexpress reel mashup of Shimano and Daiwa design elements. Just look at that dial and center screw. Also sort of looks like a chipmunk that has been gorging on nuts and has packed its cheek pouches. Probably just the angle of the picture. The Steez CT looks like a weird space egg from the palming plate in some angles but is otherwise a fine looking reel.

Yes, I think same of appearance of this reel.

But it seems 29 mm spool and they states that it can cast 1 g lure.

It looks very low sitting and good for palming. (Hopefully mag dial won't ruin it.)

I think it will be a good reel.
Watching the videos the reel looks better than in the pics, I'll probably have to try it now and see how it stacks up with the 28mm air spools.

The SLX DC XT looks like the 2017 Scorpion 100 DC but with a MGL III spool.

I dont like it. Flat black = Tatula/Fuego CT/SLX. Low end. I like the gloss and satin of the HD and would like the bright silver too if it weren't for those flat black accents.

I agree that it does look cheap ish but I hate the two tone look, silver/black on the original, and the matte/gloss combo on the HD. Ideally all gloss black would be the best. :laugh1: im a litttle picky

That new aldebaran should be exclusively sold on aliexpress :laugh1:

Might very well be the ugliest high end shimano i have ever seen. That SilverWolf zillion ain't looking very high end either.

It looks the same as the current Exist?
I brought up them up side by side on the same screen and then the 18 and 22 exists look surprisingly different. Like the ‘18 much better actually.

Stellas on the other hand seem pretty similar in appearance alone.

Even though it does look closer to an AliExpress reel than Shimano, I am still getting it. Seems to check a lot of boxes people wanted after using the 16 Aldebaran BFS

I think it’s actually a dc on the curado 70/scorpion 70 frame; I think it’s the first dc on that frame too… they’re getting all kinds of mileage out of that frame. It was released 6 years ago and still derivatives are coming. I await the MD version now. :P
