Best baitcaster under $170 for beginner

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Thanks for info! I think I'm not suggest that Kingdom for him, if it needs maintenance before get used and Magnetic brake needs customization before it's good :)

Fuego sv it is. Or Fuego ct. Or used sv tw Zillion.

What do you think of 13Fishing Origin A? At least it's very cheap...

Cheap yes; but not necessarily best for a beginner. Centrifugal breaks which can be finicky on those reels. The upside of course is that once you learn on that 13 reel, every other bait caster is then easy to use.

Just get the Tatula 103sv tw. It's got so much trickle down tech it really is awesome. I know guys that have full JDM arsenals and they are using this real for heavy duty grunt work. It will also be smoother longer, repairable, and has aftermarket support.

It seems like you can buy from ebay. Look for a used Daiwa T3 1016. Should have no problem fining one for under $170. Has to be the best beginner reel there is at that price. Not hard to set up thumb free and still get pretty good distance. It's the only reel I can cast with all breaks turned off. That's because it still has some breaking.
