Except the Alphas SVTW seems to be the better deal for now, from what I read the Shallow version should cost the same price...LowRange wrote: ↑Sun May 01, 2022 8:36 amWow its shallower than the Alphas TW SV too. This 70 SV could be a budget Alphas TW SV shallow.nossuc242 wrote: ↑Sun May 01, 2022 7:00 amSpool Weight for SV 70 - 13g

Project T 22: 2 new Tatulas

Re: Project T 22: 2 new Tatulas
Just came in this morning and I just found out that this reel came with a drag clicker like the zillion does.

Re: Project T 22: 2 new Tatulas
All they announce on these are Tatulas. Might as well call em Project Tatula XX Year.
Re: Project T 22: 2 new Tatulas
They couldn't call the USDM ones an Alphas because the US market can't get past the name. To this day it confuses people and they call it an "Alpha'. Both times they called it a Sol and later an SV105. This Alphas gets a long shaft spool so I guess the Tatula name works. It is getting bad though. I see people dropping the Tatula name and referring to the Tatula reels as a "Daiwa 103SV or Daiwa SV".
Re: Project T 22: 2 new Tatulas
Won't be able to test it out till maybe later this week but I made a few cast on the yard. Its not a free floating spool like the alpha sv but it cast almost the same at least to me it does. This new 70 sv reel has less braking control comparing to the 2020 tatula sv models and I will buy the US tatula 70 sv whenever it comes out to compare. The US tatula sv 70 should be the same as the salamandura and it doesnt state anything about the drag clicker so maybe the US version might come with it too?
Re: Project T 22: 2 new Tatulas
There are 3 of these Salamandura reels including a 34mm 150 SV. I think one of you was wanting one of these in 34mm. Now you have your wish.

The 150 is basically a red coastal.

Does the brake dial get in the way or irritate your fingers when palming?

It hasn't bothered my hand at all.

For transparency, I dont wrap my index finger around the front clip of the reel when palming. Not sure if that would make a difference in how my palm sits on the dial, but wanted to put that out there.

Couple questions on the 70 and the 80. Does the 80 have a clicking drag? Does the 70 have a clicking drag and has anyone tried skipping with it?
