Stella 22

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

The line lay picture is not an actual picture. You can see in this video how the line lay is...same style as any reel.

It looks like the spool moves much more slowly than normal spinners however.

honestly I don't think there will be a sale on these reels. I saw more Daiwa reels on sale in the past but that was all pre-pandemic memories now. I just hope the price will stay the same at least for a year or 2 rather than going up

Sometimes miracles do happen however

I don’t see a sale happening, as not many places even have what is now the old stock in stock. Reels on tackle warehouse have been listed as “no back order” for a while. Which to me indicates that the big brands don’t plan on a discount on outgoing models. I personally believe Daiwa came out with the Luvias Airity to use as many of the LT Exist frames as possible before the new model. Could be a similar thing with Shimano as the Vanquish uses a similar frame if I’m not mistaken.

My greatest concern is the oscillation. The 2002 Stella 20 years ago had this kind of super slow oscillation, and it was not a great feature. Although it really makes the casts longer, during a fight, the line can dig itself between the parallel loops. That’s why the X wrap came in 2006. I don’t understand why would it be different now with thinner and slicker lines, and maybe even more parallel loops?!

Curious on this well; and this feature will surely trickle down through the line-up.

I don't know if Shimano is trying their best to release ugly reels, but this thing looks like a $250 reel, not a $750 one. This and the new Aldebaran are :|
