Issei limited 36mm HLC PE spool G1

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Anyone with this spool?
Man it’s costly but I’m wondering how it performs

The ize version TD Zillion HLC spool? I have the regular and after applying some spool tension at 10 clicks more than what is needed to just remove side to side play, setting the dial to 6 out of 10 and being absolutely terrified of it I made one cast with a 11/16 oz frog and dumped the entire spool of 65# braid. Switched to 50# braid and then did the same thing. Haven't touched the settings since. Long story short, I have no desire for the Ize version considering what the normal can do. It's a one trick pony and that trick is the magic trick of "how soon can we see the spool arbor" and it does it very well. I paid like $90 for my non Ize. Bonkers frog bomber spool. It's my frog and braid spool for my IP on my gen 1 PP. Stock spool for all around. Ray's for pitching 3/8 oz and the HLC for frog work.

Now, that's a new one to me. I assumed you were talking about the ize version of TD Zillion HLC spool.

I have been reading what some people saw about the Steez HLC TW reel and I can say that for me it hasn't been as wild as some people describe but it seems that the general consensus is that this reel is wild. Now I am not saying that I didn't have my time getting the settings right for me because I did however it wasn't no different than any other boost spool to me. for example, I have a steez reel that's non tws and I put a boost spool in it and it will launch a lure but at the end of the cast it seems to speed up again and at first it was cool and now it's just meh.

I think that what makes the steez HLC such a cool reel is the fact that it can take spools like the OG zillion or Jdream , IP reels and even the IZe' spools designed for those reels and to me that gives the reel the IT factor. After reading many a post on the wildness of this reel and even looking at the taming tutorial on japan tackle website I am going to use this ISSEI spool in it to see how it compares.

OG Steez has weak magnets that make any spool you put in it more wild. I've been able to take spools that were just ok in a newer reel and put them in my 1st gen Steez LTD and wake them up. I bet the new Boost spools are fast in old Steez.

The Steez HlC is probably less wild than the TD Zillion HLC which is notoriously wild. I think the Boost with two springs adds more control than just one big stiff spring like the TD Zillion HLC.

Ah cool….I was obviously misunderstanding the size. Will be interesting to see the performance differences.

Looked around, it appears there are two versions, one for the 15xx size….I must’ve seen that one when I first noticed these. Major $$$$.
