Daiwa BBS

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Hey, that top one looks familiar.....😜
Thanks Tim! It is actually the bottom one
That's right!🤦‍♂️I put the silver TDZ 105H engine cover on the one you got from me.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

OG zillion covers are glued on. Tdzs have little tabs.

Damn. I put my IP79 gears in an IP68 and the IP68 gears into the IP79. I wanted to swap handle side plates so they reflect the ratio as a neat touch but the engine covers would have to be swapped. Not going to pry or add solvents to the plates. Not with megabass paint even if these are some of the most durable. Maybe some heat gun from the back side of the plate? Plastic tool to pry it up after some heat?

It's the circular metal cover that covers the main gear and that sits below the drag star. You can see that the three BBS pics show an OG BBS engine cover, one black (probably from a US Trail) and one silver (standard TDZ).

That might work. I'd be a little nervous especially on those MB reels.
