Yup. Maybe it's compatible with the 5.3 gears ,aqua71 wrote: βSun Dec 25, 2022 7:37 amMy thoughts exactly.jwfflipper14 wrote: βThu Dec 22, 2022 5:01 pmDisappointed that it doesn't come in 5.3 this time around.

Re: Steez A II Tws
The reel looks almost black in color but the Daiwa photos had it more of a blue color.

Re: Steez A II Tws
they haven't changed the frame so the old gear will fit but hard to get hold of as daiwa japan will not sell gears for magseal reels.jwfflipper14 wrote: βSun Dec 25, 2022 1:43 pmYup. Jeff
an alternative gear set is the new zillion gears and the JDM zillions have a P ratio gears set.
Re: Steez A II Tws
Thanks for the pictures
with the price its not too bad i guess. Especially considering trying to buy a Steez A 1016 or 1012 reel right now and even on ichaban tackle 270 for a pitted up reel you may as well get this reel and sell the spool which is what I will do
THT is higher than JDM and JDM tackle heaven prices are high too despite the dollar to yen differences right now..

I like ordering the Daiwa SLP Works semi order Steez A. I can get the spool I want and a carbon handle for under $400.goldrod wrote: βMon Dec 26, 2022 6:08 pmThanks for the pictures

Re: Steez A II Tws
I have received mine and I dropped a steez ex spool in it.
I looked on the site and they were sold out. I LOVE this color over the other ones and after changing out the handle I am content.

Re: Steez A II Tws
After fishing with a Steez CT 70, I won't be buying anymore Steez reels with the Steez A/A II body style. I really hope they take the CT body style and run it into other models. My Steez A has never really sat right in my hand, and the CT fixed all those issues. I heard about the A II and was really hoping for something different... sadly nothing changed.
Re: Steez A II Tws
Steez CT is the best frame currently available from Daiwa. Please milk it dry, and give me a 34mm version

Re: Steez A II Tws
I just picked up the new 23 Steez AII and the 21 Steez A HLC from JLS. I was surprised at the big difference between the spools. I did not realize that Magforce Z and Mag-Z were not necessarily the same thing. Granted the HLC spools is 36mm and the others are 34, the inductor sits much lower and has a stiffer spring in the Magforce Z spool when compared to the Mag-Z spool. I put the RCS SV spool for comparison. I bet they will perform very differently with the Magforce Z being much faster than the Mag-Z.
Have not thrown either yet due to the weather.

Re: Steez A II Tws
I received my 2nd Steez A II the other day, have it set with the JDM Harrier 6β10β. I may go for a 3rd later into the season but weβll see. The first is my med/deep crank reel and the second is for pitchin and flukes/worms. As much as I like the Zillion 1000, the Steez feels a bit more solid.
Re: Steez A II Tws
The two are both Magforce Z spools. They operate on the same principal. Centrifugal weights inside the spool extend the induction rotor into the magnets. There will be little differences from spool to spool like inductor length, thickness and spring rates. These differences occur even in SV spools.amso4 wrote: βSat Jan 14, 2023 8:18 amI just picked up the new 23 Steez AII and the 21 Steez A HLC from JLS. The HLC spools are either Magforce Z or Magforce Z Boost. Their big difference is the short, sometimes tapered inductor with a very stiff spring. They are very fast spools for bomb casting baits that sail well through the air and should be used with a line that pass through the reel and guides without getting in its own way such a braid or smaller diameter non braid. I have the original HLC spool in an IP68 and it will make an entire spool of 50# braid dissappear with the long casting Terminator frog. If I try to pitch the same bait its a nightmare. I could never imagine spooling it with heavy flouro and casting plastics. Nightmare fuel to think about. Maybe the new Boost HLC is more forgiving.
Re: Steez A II Tws
Correction: "MagZ" is actually "MagZ Boost" which is an abbreviation of Magforce Z Boost. Both spools operate on the same principal with the Magforce Z Boost HLC getting the HLC treatment of a shorter inductor and stiffer spring.
