Pflueger President LP (Circa 2004)
Anyone still rocking one of these old war horses these days. Managed to find one albeit a left handed (were cranking righties down here) but it's on fantastic shape for 19 years old and from a manufacturer that's seen as a lesser quality compared to the majors.
Have read the TT review and the pages of praise on these reels.
Yet to do a complete teardown and deep clean but the quality of this thing exudes top shelf build for 2004, from the handle assembly design, near silent brass gears, to the spool and it's ability to spin for a lengthy period of time on standard non serviced NMB bearings...

I have one:
It still in active use. It's one of my light pike reels. Reel is still smooth to crank and it casts good. It's a good quality product. Spool is some amount too high and reel itself is not as small as it could be.Re: Pflueger President LP (Circa 2004)
Back when the OEM was going for Daiwa vibes. I used to have an Asaro. Good old reels. I later got a previous gen BPS Pro Qualifier and fished the crap out of it. It held up well.

Dang I miss orange reels!!!

I still have one, a righty, even though most of my reels are lefties. It's a great reel, so smooth for it's price point. Tim Horton used to use it as his cranking reel. I also remember Ott Defoe using Pflueger reels when they went OEM style and were almost identical to Revos and BPS reels. They were good reels.

I had a righty and those were good cranking reels. The spool was relatively heavy and had a high capacity from what I recall.

It's a fantastic little reel, slightly better ergonomics than the Curado of the same vintage imho and is far easier on the eye, the internals are very straightforward and durable.
Wish I just got a RH wind model instead of LH, if anyone this side of the ditch wants to swap I've got a pristine condition model fully serviced for swaps.

Pfluegers from the 2000's looked like they had quality reels, but i've never owned one. What even happened to this brand? Everything they currently have looks worse than sub $70 aliexpress reels.
