Shimano Stella FK Spool

Reels are the hottest topic for TackleTour. Everyone wants to know what the latest and greatest is and how they compare to the old guard. What's the best for light stuff, or what's your suggestion for heavy cover. Do we really need different retrieve ratios? It's all in here.

Shimano Stella FK Spool

Post by jprice92 » Sun Jan 21, 2024 9:36 am

I have a stella fk 2500s and was wondering if I could buy a bigger spool to able switch up depending on what I'm fishing for, thinking about a 3000 size but I'm not sure if it would fit :-k

Has anyone switched up the spool before?

Might want to take a look at the schematic on both reels to see if they share part numbers--chances are the 2500 and 3000 have the same body like most other Shimano spinning reels.

Looks like the numbers match up quite well--obviously some differences due to the change in gear ratio, but looks like the rest is the same part for part.

Thank you, I just heard back from Hedgehog Studio and they said the 3000 sizes should fit.
