Tried the 8lb for 5 trips, did not like it - way too wiry for me. Doesn't hold a candle to YGK Upgrade x8 imo.

I have never tried YGK Upgrade x8, what makes it so much better?

What YGK pound rating would be the same line Dia in Xplasma 8lb?
YGK 16lb?

YGK 16lb?
It's much smoother, limper (but not as limp as say J braid x8), seems to almost repel water.

16lb is about the same dia.

I ordered some 16lb to try out.

Got the G-soul 16lb, damn this stuff is thin...

I took off the 150 yards of 10lb P-Line tcb8 and added the YGK, it took the whole spool of YGK 16lb 218 yards to fill the
spool.

I really need to add more backing the next time...

I used Asegai 8lb for about a season on a TwinPower 2000, and while it casts and handles very well, it wears out and breaks down in body/form and strength noticably. As it wears down it becomes too wispy and tends to top wrapped more and obviously also loses overall strength. I switched front to back on it to get another season out of it.

It's a very good line, but not durable and long lasting.
