Thank you, and that definitely helps my understanding of BFS and potentially good lines to try. I do have Nanofil on one of my ultralight spinning reels and it's works well and casts so easily.

Dalleinf, my 8# Power Pro is listed at .013mm.

I'll prolly fill my Air Stream Custom with Power Pro 8# and go from there. With my limited knowledge Power Pro 8# is my 'base'line.
Smalleyez, how did you find the #8 Power Pro on the Daiwa ASC? I have been searching for “new” lines for my BFS reels. Previously, I have been using 0.12 Sufix Matrix Pro, which I bought in bulk at low price. These days, powerpro #8 (0.13 mm) is cheaper and I consider using that line if I can get enough line on the spool :-)
I'm like Mongo, and I'm a pawn in the game of BFS life. :) That said, I like how the 8# PP cast on my ASC. Keep in mind I'm using it to fish jungle-like creeks in western Wisconsin for big brown trout, so it's not really a finesse situation. Castability and strength are what I'm after.

I have the same line on my Conquest BFS and it casts well. That setup is less for jungle combat and more for finesse and open river waters. Now you guys have me thinking about trying a different line on IT! :-s Just when you think you have things figured out...
Thanks. I think jungle combat is akin to my situation. As the trout I target grow to 20lb (and beyond in some small streams), I need strength in my line as well.
As line capacity is so limited, and since information on line diameters are of varying quality, I was afraid that #8 Power Pro would give med 20 yards of line :-)
I will order some and give it a try.

The 8# PowerPro is working well on my Conquest BFS. That rod sees the Mississippi River and connected backwaters, so the green PP seems to be a good match. Never know what you're going to hook!

Thanks for input. Have some 5000 yards of #8 PP on the shelf or coming in. Tried it for the first time today - really like it. No noise at all. Reminds me of the Sufix Matrix Pro 0.12 mm, which is a good thing.

Have installed it on Roro Spools in the 2021 Zillion. Nice!

How do you guys deal with line getting between the spool and the frame?
I have a 2017 Tatula SV tw with a Ray's studio spool loaded with 8lb InvisX, and the line occasionally will get in there.
I thought about 10lb braid, but it's even thinner dia.

I have only had that issue with one spool/reel (of many). It was the ABU Mørrum 1601 where I had to use mono instead of thin braid on the stock spool. Got an avail spool, which solved the issue.

Roro spools are legit. I really like them, wake a reel up for sure.

How do you mitigate line getting between the spool and the frame with such light lines? It happens to me once out of every three trips or so. But it's quite annoying.

I found the best way is to not backlash hahaha. It happens once in a while. That happens with stock spools too.

While not what you wanted with the setup, I suggest you go up in diameter to #10 fluoro
