Braid to leader connection I use the Alberto knot with 8 up and down.

Braid to a lure I'll use the Fishnfool knot and use 7 twists inside the loop.

Fluorocarbon or mono I use the Uni knot to connect a lure or hook with 5 twists inside the loop.

Palomar has failed on me too many times--only exception for this knot is for dropshots.

The Uni knot has proved to be strong, not slip, and super easy to tie, which is the reason I've stuck to it.

I used to use the improve clinch but it was too difficult to tie and make the knot look pretty when you're doing it fast.

Braid to Leader - Dodd Knot

Anything else is either a uni knot or a palomar knot on both braid and fluoro... never have issues with knots breaking.

I'm a smallie guy and even on 5-6lb test leaders those knots hold up.
