Frogs. It's become my favorite topwater, really fun to fish when using the Steez XBD Frog Rod or AGS 7'4" XH. If it weren't for those rods, I probably wouldn't like it as much as I do.

Walk the dogs are fun, but if I'm being honest, I am not at all comfortable with topwaters.

All time favourite memory is fishing dead calm evenings on Opeongo and ripping a Skitter Prop much like you would for Peacock Bass, and the Smallies just absolutely crushing it 8-)

Basic old Rebel in white or Black/Silver does the job. I am eagerly waiting for smaller version of the yozuri hardcore popper to come out.

For me there's nothing like watching a buzz bait getting slammed. It's my all time favorite top water lure.

I want to select all of the above. HAd to go with a buzzbait. Just seems to get bigger bites.

Which size and how do you fish it? I have the middle and bigger sizes and fished it a bit last year with no luck. I was giving it quick twitches and rips and then letting it sit before starting again.

I find that the bigger size work better and slower downward twitches work well. I fish it on flouro to drag the nose down a little so it doesn't want to come out of the water as much. I like to target cast it to the edge of structure and grass and work it very slow and tight. Osp has a great example video on their youtube.

I watched the video, very helpful thanks. I've been fishing it faster looking for reaction strikes, will slow down and fish closer to cover.

Haven't been on any great topwater bites this year but the whopper plopped has been bringing them in consistently for me.

Walking baits are likely the most effective topwater style across a variety of conditions, but I am not sure they are my favorites. I’m often using topwater lures at the end of a long day of fishing. The Deps Buzzjets and Jackall Pompadours are very effective and easier on tired wrists. They are also fun to work and sound wonderful.
